I’ve had to do it more than once before and always kept the proportional discount on the remaining movie.

idk about anyone else but jumping in here to say I went into a local target yesterday and they removed movies completely from the section they were normally (near the books/vinyl) I was shocked, also pretty sad

I guess I never pre-ordered anything from Target before. When people were on here talking about pre-orders getting backordered and then cancelled I didn't think too much of it. Now I see that one of my B1G150% titles (Black Tight Killers) is backordered. (The release date was supposed to be today.) The email says it's now supposed to arrive by March 12. I'm pretty sure the pre-order didn't sell out during the sale. But I did notice that the price went down $4 so maybe that caused people who only wanted that one movie to order a bunch causing it go out of stock? I don't know. Now I'm starting to wonder if Target will still come through. (I have dealt with an old catalog title being backordered before and that eventually shipped after a long while and several emails.)

Well, nothing to do now but wait and see...

Just keep in mind that doing this repeatedly could cause Target to flag and close your account. It happened to a friend of mine; she said Target even suspended her Red Card account -- crazy!

I'm having this going on right now with Darkman.I pre-ordered it shortly after went live. A week and half ago I got notice that it's backordered and will arrive between February 21.and March 5.Two days ago,i got an email saying they needed me to approve a new delivery date which I did.

Darkman is currently Out Of Stock at Target.

It's annoying though since I pre-ordered early. Best Buy was always my first choice(which is no longer possible now) but i have gotten Scream Factory releases from Target before with no backorder delay. This is my first experience with this here.

A customer shouldn’t get “penalized” for canceling an order that keeps getting delayed. That is crazy.

I have heard of Amazon and Best Buy doing similar things to customers who return items too much.

Didn’t know Target did with cancelations of orders.

Not to rub it in, but my Target PO of Black Tight Killers just arrived today.

While I have had pre-orders cancelled in the past before, I think it's only been when there has been confusion and delays over the original release date supplied to Target by the distributors. I don't recall if I've ever had an order cancelled that someone else reported receiving (from Target).
I hope they come through for you on this.

I still have a bunch of POs left to come from that sale, so I'll be keeping an eye open to see what happens with yours here.

From what I've read on here it seems like the more popular the pre-order the more likely there might be some sort of backordered delay. I'm not sure how popular Darkman is, but it is Sam Raimi and a 4K, so I would figure many people would order it. It is annoying but definitely keep an eye on your emails from Target. It might take way longer than you expected but you probably will still (hopefully) get it.

Thanks for posting. It's impossible but I wish we could figure out why some orders ship before others even when placed on same day, and all the other logistics behind the scenes. I was gonna say that perhaps mine was delayed because all my orders were pre-orders and maybe Target figured they would send out to customers with orders of stuff that's in stock and mine could wait since my other stuff won't come out til the end of this month. But like you said, you have other pre-orders and still got yours. But I appreciate you responding.

I finally got new Target Circle offers... I got 4 x $80 for $30 (NOPE!). My wife got 3 x $35 for $15. We'll do that one!

^ 3 x $35 for $15 is a killer offer IMO. I could breeze through that one easy enough on just pantry and health items.

3 x $70 for $20 here.

I saved it, just in case, but I know right now it's not happening.

Does anyone know, if you don't save the offer do they dole out a different offer sooner- or doesn't it matter?

Well, I tried a theory that if you don't activate an offer, the next offer may be better. But it didn't work. I get crap offer after crap offer on my account. But my wife seems to get decent offers half the time. I just don't get it...

My best guess is that ONCE I actually fell for and successfully redeemed one of the crap offers (4 x $90 I think) so now they think I'm going to do it every time. NOPE!

Still nothing about my Darkman 4K and it's still Out of Stock. My Fear The Walking Dead Season 8 Blu Ray arrived from Target this week, as scheduled My next pre-orders from Target are The Abyss and True Lies which release March 12 and are schedule to ship to me ...

I'm hoping there is some movement on Darkman for me by then. I really don't want to have to cancel the order and get it elsewhere(probably Amazon).I use gift cards and while my Target gift card will be credited back(I always keep the gift cards until all orders on them are in),that does me no good if I have to rebuy this elsewhere. I've got five other pre-orders to make coming up and don't want to have to add a sixth order as a rebuy for this.

So for now, I wait. I wanted to pre-order from Target the Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths Part 2 Blu ray but so far they still only have the 4K up for pre-order.

I also have Doom Patrol Season 4 on pre-order from Target which releases in April.

With Best Buy gone for physical media.Target has sort of become my defacto first choice on retailers with Amazon my second due to the fact that Amazon always puts pre-orders up at the highest price and then reduces it closer to release.Since I use gift cards, while i do get the money eventually credited back from the reduced price, it means I have to lay out more money up front in buying the gift card. Walmart is my last choice and I will only use them for exclusives or things I expect to be exclusive like I did with Dune Part 2(it turns out it's a general release steelbook).

That's interesting - I had pre-ordered the same title ("Black Tight Killers" Blu-ray) during the last Target B1G150% Off sale and I had it delivered on February 28th (next day after release day). I guess Target kinda fulfills orders on a 'first-come first-served' basis? Hope you get that blu-ray delivered soon..

If I'm not mistaken Black Tight Killers went out of stock at some point, but I just checked and it appears to be back in stock. So I'm less worried about it getting canceled. Funny thing is, it says if I ordered it today I would get it by next Friday, which is earlier that the updated arrival date they gave me for my backordered pre-order. But as long as I get it in two weeks I'll be happy.

EDIT: I just noticed on the Target order page that it went from Backordered to Preparing to Ship. So that's good.

No, but WalMart had it in store for $19.96.
