I was pretty disappointed after I had waited almost a year just to see it. When I saw the first teaser trailer on my PS3, it looked pretty good. It just didn't turn out to be that way.
John Cusack catching up to a plane and dodging earthquakes and fireballs is too fake for me. |

I dont care about the storyline being bad and all that but I will say that special effects were very cool. I caught it last night on Starz HD and I am gonna watch it again tonight. I think its a fun flick and again the special effects were very cool.

My local Newbury Comics has 3 copies of the single disc 2012 (blu ray of course) for $3.99 each so I picked one up.
I've heard it sux, and I did watch a little of it streaming the other day before getting a bit bored with it.... However,... For $3.99, I thought it would be enough fun to own. I imagine what the special effects likely cost to produce and that makes me think I got a real sweet deal. ![]() ![]() |

Just a fake looking movie with very poor imagery. The heavy unnatural looking teal/green tint made the movie look even worse than it possibly could. Just another waring sign not to trust pq ratings in general. Rent first.

seriously consider visiting a optometrist. my 2012 on both my screens DOESN'T look fake or poor. sounds to me you just like to trash the film. the image is far from poor

I don't really know what to say - I'm speechless. I'm not one that will come on these boards to slam a film - I realize that there are more than a few films I love that would be considered bad / people have different tastes but 2012 was just so over the top bad. Just when I think it could not get any worse over its 2 1/2 plus hours it did. I think the world did come to an end while watching this, may God have mercy on my soul.

This is one of those movies I want to love. It's a wild end-of-the-world disaster flick.
But what kicks me out of any enjoyment is the moral failure of those in leadership positions. Let's get on our arks and when the earth is crumbling beneath everyone's feet...then tell them they're going to die. I bought it and I've watched it probably twice. Decided to watch it tonight...ugh. It makes for a really terrible movie. |

Have you met humanity? That aspect was the single most realistic thing about this movie. If anything, it'd be worse; they'd keep it from us, then take down the internet or the whole power grid so we couldn't get any news and leave us to it while the elite escaped.

Zip, zero, and zilch. Sony has absolutely no interest in re-releasing it in 4K because it would make them just as much profit. If it ever comes out again, especially on UHD-BD, it will be as a random catalogue release to serve as filler.
