Max maybe you should upgrade to Totem Fire instead of Dynaudio C1 Sig.

If you read this thread thoroughly you will find my review of the C1 Sig.

So you had the Sapphires and sold them. Beautiful spkrs. I never got the pleasure to listen to them.

I love the balance of the 3.4's though I wish they had the esotar2 tweeters.
I had to bass trap my small room 12.5 x 15.5 x 7.8 to hell and back to tame the bass. The 3.4's are probably a little to big for my room.
My next move will be the C1 sigs
I actually bought my Sapphires in St. Louis last year and drove thru a snow storm to get them. I about rolled my dad's truck on the way there.

Funny you think the 3.4s are too big for your room. I had 3.4s and Sapphires in my bedroom of all things. I thought the bass wasn't strong on the 3.4s at all. However that is what I liked about them. Just seemed about neutral across the board. I want C2's but thinking those might be too big for the house I'm getting. I might be sticking with the 3.4s or possible C1s for the foreseeable future.

Right now I love my X16s, and the 5i will pair up great with them.

Yeah, the 3.4s are very balanced. You have very nice speakers. I have been able to hear them with the Octave V40SE and T+A Pre-amp/Amp combo.... I liked it better on the Octave, but the S1.4s on the T+A KT88 was fantastic as well.

I have heard the C1 Sigs twice, and the first time I heard them I couldn't believe that Dynaudio could improve on the C1s, but they did and theyre an amazing speaker.
Was the black box used with the Octave 40se or just it by itself?

When I first did the assesmen t I thought they were the 1.4 beacause of the ressemblance in looks but realized they were the Confidence C1 Sig in world premier after seeing the Stereophile article of Montreal SSI. No Kidding they sounded that great

I do believe that Sunny had the Black Box connected. He doesn't do things half a$$ed.

I think the thing is the 3.4s are VERY linear and coherent, so while they don't have that dynamic punch you might want, they still have a very good amount of bass. They will play deeper then the C1s. I do find the C1s a little more fun sounding, but the 3.4s will produce deeper bass.

Altho they don't hve th deep bass that Contours have I personally felt they had plenty and super fast and controlled. The C Sig was absolutely great Steve from what I remember.

The C1 is usually the speaker that everyone remembers and loves from Dynaudio. Its amazing how great that little speakers performs. Yes, the C1s have great bass.

My point to seans post was that even tho he felt the 3.4s lacked bass, they do in fact have great bass. They are very linear, so they have a little less of that dynamic drive when compared to the Sapphire, but they can hit when they are asked to.

So the 3.4s aren't happening. They sold even though we had an agreement. Might be time to look at c1s/c2s. I'm on the search again......

Got to listen to this Luxman TT with a pair of Dynaudio C2 Sigs.
http://www.musicdirect.com/p-50376-l...turntable.aspx

The other gear was Boulder. The sonics were amazing listening to some Harry Connick Jr on that turntable. Jr was in put in space directly in the middle and the instruments surrounded him perfectly. The sound was wonderful, if ever so slightly toned to the warm side. The bass was very good and the Boulder had very good control over the woofers. The highs were very detailed and smooth. Tons of mid-range. One thing I liked a lot was that the TT had a very quiet background. Tons of details were resolved and the mix of gear were all nice complements to each other.

There was a great review of the Focus 260 in the Absolute Sound recently - explains Dynaudio's manufacturing process and other things!

Default Dynaudio Xeo wireless

Hi all,

Have a question for Dynaudio experts.

I'm interested in the Xeos as they are both wireless and active.

Will I lose any fidelity from hi-resolution audio if I use the analog inputs? I ask as the digital inputs are specified up to 24bit/48kHz, according to http://www.dynaudio.com/int/xeo/XEO_Transmitter.php

I have several blu-rays that have 24bit/96kHZ audio and want to preserve the quality.

Another question - are there any plans for a Xeo center?

Thanks for the help!

Joe

I have not heard of any talks of a center channel yet. you could ask your local dealer about the loss of from 96 to 48, but I dont think it will be something you will notice. however I believe that the 48khz has to do with the wireless signal transfer. I say that because even on the Aperion wireless speakers for HT the signal is downconverted from DTS HDMA to 96 to 48. So I think it has to do with the wireless transmission.
