I hope they can realize the project. That would be great.
Hope it's the part with the added violence, which has only been released on DVD in Australia.

Apparently the Australian release is still missing a couple of seconds of violence that is included on the very first UK release but those seconds are missing from all other releases but the version that includes those seconds is heavily cut otherwise so a nice complete version from any country would be welcome

The Germans have been known to cut and paste prints together to form uncut versions.

I watched Love and Bullets via shout streaming the other night. It was pretty good! It's got a really solid cast too. Rod Steiger, Jill Ireland, Henry Silva, Strother Martin and a Lalo Schifrin score to boot! Sadly, the film was presented in 4x3. (I hear that the Shout US DVD is also 4x3) This film has enough good stuff I think to warrant an HD upgrade in it's original aspect ratio. I wonder what's up?

Yeah, I know. I don't dare dream they'll include all of it.

It would be great if Shout Factory would release "Love and Bullets" and also "Borderline" on Blu-ray some day though I have to admit that I would prefer "St.Ives" or "Telefon"(both Warner) to get a release on blu-ray.

Yup, one of them was on a laserdisc forum not too long ago about trying to get their hands on the uncut UK LD of Fortress for an upcoming BD release. Obviously intending to cut and paste the missing bits into that.

You can buy the German blu-rays of "Mr Majestyk" and "Hard Times" because it has got the same master as the US-blu-rays.

I can also recommend the German blu-ray of "Breakout" because the picture quality is mostly fine.

Regarding "Violent City": There is no German blu-ray out there because the blu-ray was only released in Japan and Italy.

I have the Italian blu-ray but itīs only in 1080i and not 1080p.

Regarding "Death Hunt": The German blu-ray is ok but the US-blu-ray is slightly better as far as picture quality is concerned.

Have a look at Amazon.Germany/Italy etc. to order the discs.

This is a must-own as far as I'm concerned. It deviates quite a bit from the real story it's based on but that matters very little when you have two of the movie's greatest he-men squaring off in the rugged Yukon (filmed in stunning Calgary locations.)

Sprinkle in some Angie Dickinson and Ed Lauter and you have perhaps the most robust macho stew ever.

Can't vouch for the Germany Blu-ray (though I know it does contain a rather precious audio interview that Bronson and Marvin gave upon release), but the Shout release is fantastic and contains some nice supplements in its own right.

The Canadian locations are fantastic, yes. Have to add one thing for those that care for animal cruelty in its principle (like I do) - the opening scene dog fight is unforgiveable if it was indeed done for the film. It doesn't seem fake at all.

The BBFC don't list any cuts, so the dog fight was probably faked.

Just got Hard Times, Twilight BD. Mr. Majestyk can go both ways I could get either one. But, I'm pretty sure I will get the Kino BD.

Thanks for the links. Also if I order from Germany Amazon it is ship from there? How long does it take to get to the State?

I saw this while looking at the Charles Bronson movies list on here. That's why I was thinking about getting the German BD. If no German BD why was is it in the database?

Eh isn't this typical...somebody's affronted by animal cruelty in a movie universe where human beings are killed wholesale. Nice set of priorities you got there.

You don't deserve Charles Bronson.

Signed,

Because faked human violence is the same as real violence inflicted on animals.

Explosive Media planned to release "Violent City" on Blu-ray in Germany but as a German I can assure you they havenīt. They postponed their release. I canīt tell you why.

Because you or the other poster have any solid evidence that the animal violence was real.

Until you provide it, I'll maintain that his/your argument is laughably hypocritical.

The human violence is faked by actors who chose to participate.

If the animal violence wasn't faked, then it's cruel.

That's all the poster was trying to say.

No need to jump on his back.

Iīm glad you like the German Blu-ray. Iīm quite sure that Twilight will use the same master if they release it in the USA some day.
