Hollywoods love affair with anything and everything coming out of British Film Industry and anyone plays any black historic personality will make sure of it.

Honestly, even without watching it, I would be very surprised if this doesn't sweep the Oscars. It's pretty much exactly what the Academy likes.

Didn't realize the release date was still so far away. The more I hear of it the more it intrigues me.

Because in an ideal world, all Scorsese and De Niro have to do is make a movie and automatically be given all the awards because nothing anyone else does matches up, right? "Hey folks, no need to send your screeners or films for competition, this year, old Martin and Bobby made a movie this year, so we already know who we're giving the awards to."

It's not uncommon for a film to premiere at Cannes and then not open until Autumn. As long as the Cannes reception was great, and the film well reviewed there, it then gives time for enormous anticipation and buzz to grow.

I'm reminded of the year "Pulp Fiction" premiered there in May '94, and got loads of great reviews, and then opened in October '94. I remember being highly stoked all summer and early fall about it.

This had a great reception, and the buzz should be spectacular by October.

I can't wait, though it is a while, yet.
