For all intents and purposes, Scorpion Releasing is essentially a Code Red Insider. If he states that the release is not legit...then there is no reason to believe otherwise. And since Code Red has done nothing to contradict his statement, despite the fact that it has been widely spread, there is no reason to logically assume that it is untrue. Unless one thinks Scorpion is maliciously attempting to harm his own brother's company (ludicrous) or does not know what he's talking about (highly unlikely).

LOL. No thanks, I don't have the time nor the software. And I can't help it if people don't understand some of the technical points I provide in my brief reviews. Really their lack of understanding not my own.

Dude relax. Dark Force stated that he acquiered the material for THTV from Code Red just like they got the material for the other releases. Who knows what deal was worked out between them. I don’t know the details and neither do you nor anyone else posting in his thread, but Walt and he has not revealed much.

It’s a pressed disc and it’s sold by a legit retailer. If I had interest, I have bought it already. In fact, if it were uncut I would have bought it already. If there’s a rights dispute, get the attorneys involved.

Walt is Walt and Bill is Bill...two individuals. What has Bill said about this? *CRICKETS*. It is OBVIOUS that Walt was not comfortable with the partnership and has made it pretty clear.

Now you guys keep going round and round trying to figure out label politics. Good luck .

He also prefers to spend his time working on transfers and color correction instead of live streaming meals with Packard and Leo Fong.

The point is that you know as much as the rest of the posters here (but Walt) nothing. What you present is just your opinion and nothing else.
You keep stating that Walt and Bill “live in the same house”.
Walt already addressed this and it’s a moot point.

They are siblings but each man has his own label and there’s a reason for that. Walt cannot be held accountable for any decision or partnership made by Bill and Bill alone. To imply that anything Bill = Walter is ridiculous at best.

Not implied that Bill = Walter. Reread the original posts. Merely stating, and most would agree, that Walt is fully aware of the workings of Bill's label, and vice versa.

It is all somewhat moot as I have no issue with buying the disc, reason being one can easily take the blu and a VHS rip and create their own composite cut.

Let me break this down to make it a bit more obvious:

If you were Scorpion Releasing...

After all the work you did on Opera (a code red title) , all the code red titles you sold in the past and currently on the Ronin Flix store you took the risk to fund and create, all of the PR you did for Code Red on social media, and all the often (not always) unfounded complaints taken and responded to for code red titles (especially opera, wow) ...

How would you feel if Code Red went ahead and partnered with someone else, legitimizing their competing label, another label who will now be bidding for licenses in same subgenre as you and selling the same CR titles (plus new ones) that are no longer exclusively in your Ronin store, except for less money or with bonuses you don't have to offer?

From the posts in this thread it seems scorpion is understandably not pleased with these developments as blu titan indicated, and thus is posting accordingly.

Considering Walt left Code Red many moons ago to start Scorpion & he's nabbed all of Code Red's top-tier Italian titles for his own label (including Opera, which is not a Code Red title), I don't think he gives a shit that Bill partnered with Dork Farce to release shoddy drive-in recreation discs that come mysteriously packaged with Full Moon trading cards, Packard magnets & odd celebrity autographs.

And the idea that Code Red "legitimized" Dork Farce is...well, hilarious.

Yeah? Look through the scorpion postings on this thread. Do they look congratulatory or even remotely happy? Or do they seem more uncomfortable with the partnership? Read between the lines. I also get the feeling scorpion somewhat rescued code red from opera due to the amount spent on the license vs potential to make an error that would sink sales (helping mitigate risk) if you look at the posting history.

Regarding legitimizing the label, yes, likely in part due to code red Dark Forces initial batch of titles were distributed by Kino and sold all over the place in major online retailers. Last week Offerings was beating out a competing release in sales on Amazon from Scream Factory from the same release date. A lot of startup labels still haven't gotten to that place after years.
