That is always the case in every multi-buy ever. The discount is always applied to the cheapest item(s).

The Target sale will do it the right way for the customer. It will take off the 2nd/4th/6th etc. most expensive item.

Yeah, the Target site (whose sale Amazon is copycatting) automatically organizes orders in the way most beneficial for the customer. Amazon should copycat better.

So Criterion's 24-hour flash sale should be coming up soon. I was looking at past dates and didn't see much of pattern (besides it always falling on a Tuesday):

2022 - 3/8 (Second Tuesday in March)
2021 - 2/23 (Last Tuesday in February)
2020 - 2/25 (Last Tuesday in February)
2019 - 3/5 (First Tuesday in March)
2018 - 2/13 (Second Tuesday in February)
2017 - 2/28 (Last Tuesday in February)

My guess is 2/28 (2 weeks from tomorrow) or 3/7 (3 weeks). Anyone heard anything more definitive?

No official word but they usually announce 24 hours in advance on social and charter members of the Criterion Channel usually get an email code early, as well.

They're doing a 30% off sale currently through the 16th, so it won't be then. It'd be surprising to do another sale next week already.

They actually mentioned in the letter from Oct or Nov that pretty much this is the best we are going to see for the foreseeable future.

I guess you mean 'Mr Wonderful' Johnny who has said that Criterion cases are made out of some kind super heavy lead and he will have to hike prices (again).

The biggest outlier on the list (2/13/18) was the release date for both Silence of the Lambs and Night of the Living Dead, and other than 2019 it's always been a day with a new release, though that doesn't necessarily tell us anything because unlike in 2019-2022, there actually is a release in the first week of March this year: the UHD of Mildred Pierce. But if I were a betting man I would say 2/28.

I got an email from Arrow US the other day saying that they'll be having a sale tomorrow. Do we expect it will just duplicate the Grindhouse sale?

I doubt it will be as good as grundhouse's prices on most of the titles. Most titles will be 50% off retail value most likely except maybe the Battles Without Honor films. Grindhouse has most titles at over 50% off, i.e. $100 boxsets for $45 or less, and $40 titles for under $20. Plus you'll be charged tax and shipping.

Whats great about UV is when its slow the cart automatically clears out as soon as you add anything cause Mr Wonderful does not like window shoppers.
