I think it doesn't help much, but, your experience seems to be different.

Wondering if I am crazy or if I may be deaf lol..I went from borrowing my buddies 2212CI to buying a 3313CI yesterday. I hooked it all up but have yet to calibrate the sound and do minor tweaks but to be for the claim of 125watts/channel I put it on full blast and it still doesn't seem like it is superbly loud while listening to MP3's through auxiliary. I still have some research and stuff to do to improve the sounds but like I said I am either expecting too much or just am not thoroughly convinced that this receiver is actually pumping out 125 watts/channel. I will also be watching movies and testing some good quality FLAC's through this to just make sure that I am not doing something wrong. It's definitely louder than the 2212CI that's for sure but I might compare it to my friends 1522-k Pioneer and see if it might just be me. I'll get back to you guys on this but I did have an issue with an HDMI cord not being good which caused flickering to the screen and it also caused screen noise or "snowing" on the screen. Once I replaced that cord all seemed well but I am still going to go the extra mile and replace all cords with 1.4 rated cables and see if that makes any difference at all. I'll get back to everyone on my progress.

Got the Audyssey set, I changed all the crossovers to 80 (Subwoofer is at 120), and it sounds like a new machine now. Very much improved and the loudness and crispness is there. Watched plenty on it all weekend and listened to a lot of electronic music on it to great success. 3313CI is pretty amazing for $800 currently! It feels good finally having a sounds system with enough wattage to make us of the speakers. I was running an Onkyo 605 before so that was 90W per channel but it wasn't nearly as clear as this receiver. Game of Thrones, Tron: Legacy, Da Vinci's Demons, and plenty of other shows and movies were all top key and the vocals are very very crisp and loud at respectful volumes. I am quite pleased with this now.

This is the 2nd unit in less than 12 months to go back to them, both in less than 12 months of use...

My 3312 had to go back to Denon (PanurgyOEM) 2 weeks, 2 days ago for a blown LF amp...

Off to Denon she goes...amazing how good that old Sony DTR-DE1075 sounds, with settings set based on AVS/Audyssey knowledge.

Then 6 days ago:

Denon repair has been less than helpful, saying they signed for my package on 5/21, when FedEx says it was DELIVERED on the 15th. Had to e-mail them a copy of the receipt, which was included in the BOX.

Guess in a week, or 10 days, they'll have this unit back to me.

If I had it to do over again, don't think I'd buy Denon. They are the best in terms of features at that price point, but numbers and frequency of repairs...

Today:

UPDATE on my Repair from PanurgyOEM:

"has been repaired and currently testing"

what speed demons they are...

Will give final update; will think long & hard before buying another Denon...may do it, but allow an extra 50 dollars and month down time...

I've heard something today about turning off the video processing on receivers. So I'm wondering if the Denon 2310CI has one and how to turn it off?

In what context? Regarding music? Like a direct mode or in regards to allow something else to do the video processing?

I guess basically letting the video go straight through to the tv without it being messed with. This is what my parents heard but I dont know.

I have Denon AVR-1712 and I'll be moving to new house where I will want to put receiver in basement and TV on main floor.
Do I have some kind of option to control this receiver, it says it has no IR control, so Harmony remote is no go.
Do I need to upgrade to different receiver in order to have one in basement and be able to control it from different floor ?

If you buy a receiver with WI-FI capabilities, you can download the Denon app for your phone. This app will allow you to control your receiver from wherever your wireless signal is available. I have the 1913 for this....it works quite well.

Best Buy, they are getting rid of some recievers, had the pioneer elite 61 I wanted for 600, but too expensive,

They had another 2113 that was a display model for 350, but i payed the extra 27 for peace of mind, (mine was supposed to be open box, but all the original packaging was there)

I could get the 1912 which is $10 more but doesn't have the XT

Just bought the 1712 from Accessories4Less. Hope there's nothing wrong with it.

It's replacing my 2007 Harman Kardon AVR247
