Default Energy RC micro or Energy Take

I wanted to get speakers for my bedroom but I can't decide which to go with. Does anybody have experience with both set ups or one of them? Can anyone tell me which set up is better and why. My bedroom is 12x12 and the speakers will be powered by a Pioneer VSX 521. Thanks for any and all input. Tim

Or it could be that no one here has experience with those speakers. I haven't heard the RC minis or Takes... I don't want to offer an uninformed opinion.

google.com . Just did a search and found comparisons between them. If no one responded here, they either did not check the thread or do not have any opinion on them. Good luck

I have the Take Classics 5.1. Got them for Christmas. And I really like them. I have them powered by Vsx-1021-k. The are in my living area 14x18. For the money I couldn't be happier.

Default Energy 4.1e Speakers

Hello! New member here! Just wanted to get some thoughts on Energy 4.1e speakers. I have an old pair sitting around in a closet that I bought in the mid-90's. This was before Energy was carried in the big chain stories like Circuit City and the Good Guys, when they were considered more boutique.

Now... I'm thinking about selling these on Ebay in the near future and was wondering if there was any sort of... I don't know... collectors type market for these? Are they valuable/collectable in anyway or should I expect to get $100 or less?

Was just wondering if there is any interest anymore in these type of speakers?

Thanks in advance for any info!

There might be, but you may have to claim them as "vintage" I know the Veritas 2.4/2.3/2.8 still have a somewhat elevated price point for their age.

callas01: Thanks for your response! Haha! It's definitely weird to even consider the thought of "vintage 90's speakers!" I guess I'm getting old! I'll probably put something like vintage or rare in the listing. Thank you for the advice.

This generation of veritas was all made in Canada and was somewhat a good notch better then the current ones and also sold for a higher price point so I am not surprised but the 4.1 can be found for around 150$ good condition to 250$ for a pair in near mint condition.

Question What to get

Hey all,

I'm looking to upgrade from my Boston Acoustics setup, 2x CR67 fronts, 1 CS225C center, 2x CR57 rear/surround.
I'm contemplating going with 4x RC10 and 1 RCLCR or 2 Energy V5.1,s a V5.2C, and 2 V Minis for surround duty.
I can't decide which one and later down the line I'm planning to go with full tower speakers. I couldn't find much info on the Veritas vs the RC.

This will be a bedroom setup for now. The rest of the equipment is an eD A3-250 sub and an Onkyo TX-NR709 receiver.
Both energy setups come up to around the same price $899 from vanns.

Thanks!

Go with the RC line. Veritas vs. RC info here: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=630450
Three RC-LCR( aka the mini tower ) up front, keep using your Boston Acoustics rears.

(A) Anyone have any first hand experience with the Energy Veritas vs. B&W CM lineup?

I'm interested in the following lineups for home theater predominant and music.
(A) Bowers Wilkins CM9, CMC2, CM5 (5.0 setup = $6300)
(B) Energy Veritas v6.3, v5.2, v5.1 (5.0 setup = $2100)
(C) Goldenear Technology Triton 2, Supersat 50c, Supersat50 surrounds (7.0 setup = $6000)

(B) Need some opinions. Ran a search for B&W vs. Energy and came up with the following.

The XPA-5 would probably grab those drivers well enough to put some real good dynamic swings into them.
I recently had the chance to audition the Energy CF-50/CC-10 and the B&W CM9/CMC2. I have no local access to Energy Veritas, unless of course someone in the Bay Area has them, and would be willing to let me demo them. I did not care much for the Energy CC-10 center channel speaker. The vocals coming from the CC-10 felt "boxy," "restricted," "confined" to the speaker. The B&W CMC2 sounded "alive," and "transparent." The B&W towers also sounded much more "alive."

From what I have read online, Energy CF < RC < Veritas. How do the Veritas compare to the B&W Cm line.

Energy CF < RC and CF < Veritas is definately true. Not sure about Energy CF < RC < Veritas. In fact someone would suggest Energy CF < Veritas < RC or Energy CF < Veritas = RC.

IMO, CF Series cannot be compared to B&W CM Series but RC/ Veritas can definately give run to those B&W's.

This is debateable but moreless the closest to the truth, One thing not to forget is the Old line Veritas is a bove and beyond anything in todays Energy lineup. The Current Veritas are known to have slightly more mids than the RC and also their finish is astounding, if anything they just sound a bit different but better is debatable.

I have the RC50 fronts and have been getting by with the CC10 center for about a year now. Now I see the RC-LCR is finally down to 300 on Amazon with free shipping! Then I notice there is a V5.2C center also at 300 with free shipping. Is the V line much better than the RC? Would the sound quality gain be offset by unmatched front? Suggestions?

Edit: Well looking back a page it looks arguable the veritas line is even better than RC?
