The entire plot of why Talia and Bane were trying to destroy Bruce/Gotham was stupid. The"I haven't seen my dad in years and he exiled the one person who cared for me most but now that he is dead I will destroy you" is dumb. It is clumsy but then again everything in the trilogy is.

I concur

Talia as the main villain and Catwoman as a side villain? That movie would have been awful. Marion Cotillard's acting wasn't impressive in the movie and the Catwoman character I can care less about. The only reason people liked her was because of her sex appeal.

"Everything" is a bit of a stretch, isn't it? Unless you just don't dig comic book super hero movies. Personally, I thought Batman Begins was a great flick - nothing "clumsy" about it.

Except for the last sentence, I completely agree with you.

Nope, I dig comic book movies if done right. I will admit that Batman Begins is OK but I find The Dark Knight silly and The Dark Knight Rises even more so.

Then what are some comic book movies that you feel are done right?

Most people would say they weren't silly enough seeing it's a guy in a Bat costume, yet Nolan made them into a dark crime saga.

I remember my film teacher absolutely hated all three movies and everybody in my class asked why and he said "It was heartless, empty, and shockingly humorless for a comic book movie. They need to be fun." This is why our class always gets into an argument with him over Nolan's Batman vs. Marvel's Phase One movies, lol. He loves the Marvel films while most kids in my class prefer the dark Nolan films.

Sounds like your teacher is not a Batman guy. As far as I'm aware, most of the best Batman story lines in the comics are pretty grim. However, I wouldn't say that the movies or the comics are heartless or not fun.

Bull... I've seen satires of the movie and they do a scene in the stadium where the crowd is screaming at Bane, "WE CAN'T UNDERSTAND YOU!". There were plenty of times during the film where I couldn't understand a word he was saying. In fact, maybe if directors weren't so insecure about their films that they feel the need to blast every bit of sound to eardrum-splitting levels, maybe we would be able to understand the dialog.

Besides, I am so tired of these villains with these impossible voices.

I agree with what you're saying, re: the Batman story lines in general, but I just couldn't hop on with TDKR.

I blind-bought the Best Buy steelbook and was really excited to watch, but then the numerous aforementioned plot holes and gaps in logic just kept dragging me down and by the end, I was left in a pretty dour mood.

I'm with you. I have never seen a funny Batman story being praised as one of the best I can't even name one. I find the complaint about these films not being fun odd since a majority of Batman stories aren't.

What? Ra's Al Ghul, Scarecrow, The Joker, Two-Face, and Talia. How were any of those villains hard to understand? Thinking of all villains in the Marvel movies, none of them had difficult to hear voices either. Bane was the first one. Not sure where you're going there... I have never seen anyone say they couldn't understand him. Yea, there are a few lines throughout the movie where it was a bit difficult. But, almost every other line by Bane was pretty clear. The movie theater helped with understanding him. BECAUSE they made his voice loud. And my eardrums were fine after seeing the movie twice. It wouldn't make sense to make Bane's voice quiet and low. They knew people would complain about not understanding him, so they made sure his voice was loud in the theaters.

I have to agree, Begins is alright but the rest just not that good. For me, I don't like the style of story telling of Nolan and don't really enjoy his direction either. So from the start this series was going to be a hard sell for me. In the end it really did not workout, not horrible movies but just not something I enjoyed.

I The Dark Knight Rises last week and it felt long in a lot of places, just like The Dark Knight. I think it's good that Nolan is done with this series and that a new series of Batman movies can be made in a few years.

Poor TDKR, it can't even win fan awards! I guess it's true, Avengers fans outnumber DK fans.

I lost all respect for Loki when
[Show spoiler]the Hulk used him as a rag doll...sorry, that doesn't happen in the comics.

The problem with TDKR is that it is too long; they tried to cram is as much as they could (:cough: Spiderman 3 :cough:) which didn't help. It is ironic that movies such as Twilight and Harry Potter get a 'two-part movie' "ending" and TDKR (which truly needed it) didn't.

I also think that Nolan by 'grounding' Batman made it less Batman; come on, how can you 'ground' a movie that features a billionaire that fights crime in Gotham with his super gadgets? Impossible.

Now, as this being as bad as QoS...I liked QoS and I enjoyed TDKR, so all that hate isn't in me.

Slightly off topic, but you brought it up

I do not hate QoS, and I agreed it is not as good if it is watched as a stand alone movie, but IMHO it is quite good if it is viewed back-to-back with CR.
