Which is why I always argue that both movies should be re-cut or watched this way...either end CR with Bond and the girl together, and start QoS with what happens afterwards, or watch them back to back.

You dig comic book movies that are done right? The Dark Knight Trilogy are comic book movies that are done right.

Why is The Dark Knight silly? Explain.

He mustn't have seen The Dark Knight. I thought Joker was hilarious (you know... in a dark way lol) AND a lot fun in that movie.

Not to mention moments like "So that's what that feels like" from The Dark Knight Rises.

LOL. That was the BEST scene of the whole movie! I cracked up laughing. It's brilliant.

Same here. The audience I was with lost their shit when that happened. You couldn't even here Hulk say "puny god" because the laughter was so loud. I don't get the mentality of dismissing something, because it didn't happen in the comics. The comics have been through countless revisions, and story changes so who is to say this film version isn't equally canon?

At the end of the day, funny is funny, and I'm gonna laugh instead of acting like a bunch of sour grapes just because it didn't happen in the comics.

As for Nolan's films, in Batman Begins there were a few moments where I wanted to shout "Now there is the goddamn batman!" but in TDK and TDKR I just didn't feel that. By the end of TDKR I felt that Nolan had reduced the character to a shell.

I hope the new Batman is more like the Batman from the Arkham games. That is the Batman I like. Just beating injustice to a pulp and not getting his ass kicked like a little *****. I want whoever takes over to embrace the comic's elements instead of doing away with them. I want a gothic Gotham. I want the batmobile. I want the gadgets. I don't want Batman transported to our normal world like Nolan tried to do. I want to go to Batman's world.

I wanted to see a "real world" Batman for a long time. Now that I've gotten that, I'm ready for something a little more comic booky. I agree the Arkham games would be a great sort of template to work from.

+1! ... But I really don't see how Joseph Gordon-Levitt is the right guy to pull that off.

When do you think they will announce the ultimate editions for the Dark Knight Trilogy?

Wow, I'd forgotten all about that. I was just thinking we're coming up on ten years for Begins here soon and hoping we'd get a redo for that.

They were said to be coming out in Q3 of this year, so I'm assuming some time this fall. I've held off on buying Begins and the past trilogy pack just because I know that this set is suppose to come out

I agree, but I bet w/ this "real world/Nolan-esque" Superman Re-Reboot were stuck w/ this style until after this phase is through. I can wait 7 years for another Batman. Im kinda exausted at this point.
I'd rather see a proper Nightwing or whomever film w/out the Nolan look.

If Man of Steel delivers at the box office, than you can count out any of the future near future DC titles having a lighter atmosphere to it.

I would be on board with a Batman Inc film franchise, the closest we've gotten so far is Batman & Robin. Also I dunno, I'm not getting that Nolan vibe from MoS so I wouldn't worry too much. Feels like a Snyder film to me and that's the way I like it.

Well Snyder isn't known for his light-hearted romps but I trust him to give us the best Superman film he can given the circumstances. He knows what's at stake and other than 300 I have yet to see a film from him that I haven't liked.

I agree on the former, but not the latter. There's something about the Arkham games, including their style and their stories, that don't sit well with me when it comes to doing a movie.

Here's my idea for a new Batman movie series: Go completely in the opposite direction of Nolan's films. Start off with Bruce Wayne already being the Batman, and having been so for quite some time, thus avoiding the need for an origin story. The mob should still be a part of the world, obviously, but an over-the-top mob boss should be used, like Black Mask, as opposed to more realistic ones like Sal Maroni and Carmine Falcone. Have the Black Mask use his mob connections in each movie to contract a super villain to work for him. Maybe Killer Croc would be a solid choice, or perhaps he hires Dr. Hugo Strange to create an army of his giant zombie monsters? That's what I want to see. The movies should still be dark, but they need to be over-the-top and comic book-y at the same time.

Yeah, he'll be fine.

I'm just a little scared for Superman Franchise overall.

If its average im scared the JLA movie will get pushed back.

Isnt this Superman the Iron-Man(ground zero) to DCs JL project?

All signs are Man of Steel is DC/WB's tentpole movie not only for the tentative JLA film but other films as well, two of which could be Flash and Wonder Woman, as well as a new Batman franchise and of course future Superman films. So a lot is riding on the success or lack thereof for this new movie. I think it could end up being the best Superman film to date but the fact that it's another reboot, granted 7 years after the last one is probably going to turn off a lot of people.

I think its combination of a re-reboot(though the last one is way in the past compared to the Spider-Man spacing) and the staleness of the Superman mythos.
