yeah i never really thought about it b/f i got it. i guess i just really wanted the NEW console and all. i put it on craigslist to sell so hopefully i can just get what i paid for it. i will have to take a bit of a loss on the games more than likely.

This really is troubling to me considering I've never once had a problem with any Nintendo console in the past. I've owned every console they've made since the NES and the one thing I always liked was their console durability.

I don't take comments like that seriously. Most people won't notice a slightly lower frame rate.

It's why it was always hard for me to take seriously the review comments of "The 360 gets 60 frames per second but the PS3 only gets 50". Nobody will eyeball it and call it bad, only pixel counters truly care.

If it dips low enough then sure, but I've seen no one say that the WiiU port is suffering badly enough that it's noticeable to the random guy. Only that it's not up to 360 level.

There's also a chance it will always be that way, among multi console owners and multi platform games anyway.

You weren't blowing on NES cartridges?

I'll bet the lower end white Wii U model ends up being discontinued. There seems to be a major glut of that model in the market. Everyone wants the premium set, for good reason.

Don't know why anybody would want the basic short of desperation not finding the deluxe or a white electronic fetish NintendoLand is surprisingly good and you get that for $10 less, getting 10% rebated from all purchases until the end of 2014 could see people get more than the extra $50 rebated and stuff like the charging cradle is a must IMO.

Yeah the charging cradle is really coming in handy. I charge it in the charge cradle, see its finished charging, and then move it onto the regular cradle. Its nice.

It's more like the demand for the black deluxe Wii U turned out to be a LOT higher than the demand for the basic white, as you said, for good reason.

People know they're getting a much better value with the black deluxe even though it's $50 more.

None of the extras struck me as a big deal.

Nintendo Land isn't a game I see people playing very long. I'd rather rent it for a couple days.

"Serious" users will need more hard drive space anyway, neither drive is that big.

The cradle and charging station are big "meh"s to me. I don't ever use the charging cradle I got with the 3DS.

And if you feel this way about the rest of the premium set, even the premium subscription is meh. A 10% discount, to make up for 50$, would require spending 500$ on Nintendo's shop.

It is a better deal, but a better deal with nothing that makes me feel the extra 50$ is worth it.

*EDIT* For me the black color is the biggest reason I'd be tempted by the Premium set. heh

Im loving the WiiU. The gamepad screen brings another dimension and sometimes i end up messing around for along time on the miiverse communities. My really only gripe is the gamepads colors are way washed out compared to what it looks like on the tv. Also, the gamepads screen is like yellow tinted. I have small amount of backlight bleed on left side of gamepad but nothing too bad. Hopefully by the time they start offering gamepads to be purchased alone they will have improved somethings on it.

Are these things hard to find? I was at my local Target last night and they had 2 of them. I was going to buy both and try to make some money off them, but then I thought if they have 2 on the shelf on black Friday, they must not be hard to come by and passed on them.

Don't count on it. Nintendo have never been one to improve things like that. I wouldn't even want to use two gamepads on it at the same time because I really can't see them fixing the issues they have via firmware. It's clearly a hardware limitation, and Nintendo were stupid to backtrack on the situation. They should have stuck to their original plan of 1 per console. Thats what it was designed for. Shoe horning in after the fact is always a bad idea.

I was just at walmart last night and saw the system instock. They has one premium console, and a few of the basic models.

Is there anyway to turn off the pro controller? I use it for black ops and turn the gamepad's screen off to conserve battery but after when I pop in nsmbu and use the gamepad, I see no option to turn off the pro so it just sits there, on, losing battery life. I tried pushing the home button on the pro but there are no options to disable the controller....Unless I'm just totally overlooking it

This sounds like a slightly broken gamepad to me.

I didn't notice any washed out colors, nor yellow tint, nor backlight bleed. Having all 3 would be enough for me to at least try to replace the thing.

I have no idea why but there seems to be a massive discrepancy from city to city. I've been in about 10 retail stores this week doing shopping and not a single premium Wii U console was in stock anywhere. A few lower-end white consoles, but that's it.

Went by TRU and they had 4 deluxe and 2 basic. Went to nearby Frys and looked around at Blu-ray. No Wii U at all. About any hour later went back and there was 1 deluxe and 1 premium left. Impulse bought the deluxe. Doing the update now. Knew I should have waited and started this before going to bed....
