I literally just received the two-disc set on Friday, and it was the two-disc version. It also came with the poster. It just wasn't autographed. It came with both the poster and an insert.
Did yours come with a slipcover?

Actualy, I was mistaken on this.

I watched all the extras before I watched the main feature. I guess they got the right to ROTLD, but not it's sequels. The extras cover ROTLD II and III, while the main feature focuses solely on the legacy of ROTLD.

I mis-spoke. Sorry about that.

I would also add, in response to the other poster's assertion that these docs may seem "cheap" without film clips, I remember the backdrops for More Brains! looking more stylish and eye-popping than the greenscreen stuff in Never Sleep Again. Not that it matters in terms of the overall doc quality -- both are great -- and for all I remember, maybe More Brains! is all greenscreen too. Still, film footage or no, it doesn't look cheap.

I can understand the criticism though. If you're making a documentary about a film, it's odd that you wouldn't use clips from the film.

Alas, the ROTLD doc doesn't seem cheap at all, and they didn't use green-screens, they built mini-sets. There are some outtakes where it's very obvious that everything behind the actors is actually there.

Some greenscreens are terrible. I remember either Madman or Maniac had HORRENDOUS greenscreens. I think it was Madman.

Slightly Off topic, but I was flipping through the channels last night and came across "Inside Story: A Nightmare on Elm Street" on the channel "Bio HD". The program ran for 4 hours and was nothing more then "Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy" with commercials and some minor edits for time. In the past I'd seen a really good "Inside Story: Scarface" documentary and just assumed it was a tv series, but now it makes me think that the network just re-brands existing ones for television exhibition. It also makes me think that at some point (possibly as early as this October) we may see the Crystal lake Memories Documentary broken into 4 parts and played on Bio.

I am not sure why they did not include it in the Friday The 13th movies box set?

Because this is an independent release.

Same reason why Never Sleep Again isn't in the Nightmare box set. It's an independent release; not a project funded or purchased by Warner Brothers...

Or the obvious fact that it's not a Friday The 13th film.

It a documentary about them...
