And I have said before, the better compression on bluray will probably give a better image (less compression problems) than the old DVD encoding. Like it will look worse if one transfer VHS to MPEG-1 than MPEG-2.

This is just a technically fun thought.
One can properly deinterlace video that comes from a film source as it wasn’t shot on a video camera that was meant to play back on an interlaced tv. If it was shot on film, there were full frames captured, that I know for sure. I don’t know exactly how older video cameras recorded images, but they always were intended to be played back on a tv that used alternating fields in order to display a full image. Personally I do believe that when it comes to image quality, when comparing a higher bit rate vs not deinterlacing the source image, you’re talking about such a small difference in quality it more than likely doesn’t matter. Personally I would just stay with the idea that it’s best to transfer your video masters to a high quality digital file format and then leave them interlaced and allow the end viewers tv or disc player to do anything to the image other than the actual MPEG-2 encode for dvd. That way you’ve technically delivered the movie in a state most near it’s original quality to the viewer on the disc. All said and done video mastered content on Blu-ray makes no sense for anything in a niche market that only a couple thousand copies will sell of in the first place. It’s just way too cost prohibitive. Agfa is going to be releasing a compilation of some of their early releases on Blu-ray sometime here soon. That’s a situation where cost wise it makes sense to go that route as they’re more than likely gonna let the dvds go out of print and only sell those titles in that pack. Better than slasher video releasing single titles on Blu-ray that essentially provide an extremely minimal bump in quality for a significant bump in cost.

Edit: I’m not saying that you can’t properly deinterlace video mastered content, I’m just relating that to how film mastered content doesn’t need to be deinterlaced at all any more with how films are scanned and non linear editors handle those scans. They’re inherently progressive at that point.

Been waiting to grab one. Guess I waited a little too long.
Says sold out on MV site. I don't know why they don't carry the LE

I'm in the same boat - though as recently as last week, they still had more than 40 copies listed as in stock. Maybe they took orders offline until they can get an accurate count on how many they have left?

I did a blu ray subscription with them a couple of years ago and I have never received tracking info. So far, the blu rays that were included in the subscription just randomly show up in my mailbox.

I got a shipping confirmation for Mr. No Legs yesterday. It's an Endicia email from Louis Justin and doesn't say Massacre Video on it or what it's for.
