The PSVR2 connects with a single wire to the PS5 console. No switcher box needed like on the PSVR1 PS4. No camera needed either. PSVR2 headset must be attached at all times to function, as there is no battery to worry about with the headset.

The hand controllers need recharging however, so eventually the charge could begin to diminish after years of play.

Anybody know if it's USB-C or USB 3.0?

It took me 20+ hours of play time to complete the game I believe.

If PSVR2 had Astrobot Missions 2, I'd definitely have more interest as it would checkmark a must have game.

What is your favorite PSVR game if you could only ever keep 1 game?
Tough call, contenders are Deracine, Astrobot, RE 7, Statik, I Expect You To Die and Room VR.

All are incredible but I would say Statik. Atmosphere, puzzles and immersion first class.

All are 5 star games imo. (I could list loads more but just to keep it short)

Thanks. Statik I was playing last time I booted up the PSVR for a bit. It's a cool looking game in VR, sitting in the seat with your hands stuck inside that machine box, trying to figure out some of the very complex puzzles to unlock it.

I was hoping for some big sales for Thanksgiving week in the US on PSN store for PSVR games, but hardly any good sales surprisingly that I could find so far.

The puzzles were difficult but solvable, and most were very cleverly done.

Room VR was dripping in atmosphere too. The Witches cottage felt like something out of a hammer horror film.

Okay, Room VR. I remember you were looking forward to that one. Glad you enjoyed it.

Yes, I remember you said the last Statik puzzle had you wondering how to progress if I'm not mistaken, and then you finally got it.

I wonder if Sony approached all the PSVR developers and said "Here are the specs required if you want to develop for PSVR2, and here is the development kit so you can have a PSVR2 to test your game with." That will take some time and programming to port up many of those games, upgrading not only the controls to a completely different format set up with no light bar or camera, but also upgrading the visuals to 4K versus the lower res graphics of PSVR1. Should be interesting to see which games surface first.

I wonder if Moss Book 2 will be ported to PSVR2. I have been holding off on buying it for the PSVR in hopes that they make it PSVR2 compatible.

PSVR2, Sony, please bring in some big AAA developers as a show of confidence or at least announce some new big publishers joining in to support the headset. Who do we have so far? Capcom and Sony. Then the rest seem to be smaller developers. That's the same story with PSVR1's 2nd half of its lifetime, as the big AAA developers gave up after 1 or 2 games for PSVR1.

Hi Chet. Yes, I heard Moss will be ported over to PSVR2, which would include both games. I actually have to finish Moss 2, but find it much more difficult with the puzzles compared to Moss 1, which was much more intuitive with the puzzle solving. It's partly because Moss 2 introduces a new character/throwing weapon, that complicates things considerably along with some special moves. Quill is the easier character of the two. This one, it's unclear what the goal is for a number of puzzles. I'm left wondering what the point of the puzzle is, and then get stumped and lose interest after many attempts with no results. I didn't experience that with Moss 1.

Even so, Moss 2 is a work of art and I'm inspired to jump back into it soon on PSVR1.

I bet they'll look amazing on PSVR2, already being two of the all time best looking games on PSVR1 but with good to average resolution.

You would think that these prices will go down before 2/22/23.

And here I thought 599.99 was a lot directly from Sony... Okay, I see those are Canada prices, which is something like 25% higher than US prices I guess. Something like that. Even so, that's very high priced.

Canada:
Walmart wants $720 directly from Walmart for the base PSVR2 only.
Gamestop, $750 and $820 for the two PSVR2 sets, 1 with the game.

I don't see it in US stores just yet, just to see.

They really are. I really wanted to get excited about this, but so far the games don't interest me.

I hope the market can bear it. I hate seeing companies out-price the market. How can developers project profits if there isn't a big enough install base of headsets? If there aren't enough games to attract consumers to the hardware, VR will always be a niche product.

Here's how I see a road to success for the PSVR2.

1. Horizon Call of the Mountain must be stunning and stellar. It must be a better experience than any VR experience that has come before it. Buzz from this game has to be top notch. No pressure Guerrilla and Firesprite.

2. Half-Life Alyx must arrive on the platform within 3 months of the hardware release.

3. Moss Books I & II must arrive on the platform within 3 months of the hardware release.

4. Gran Turismo 7 must receive a PSVR2 update soon after the hardware release.

5. One more AAA VR title from a top studio (preferably using established IP) must be released in 2023.

Agreed that those things really need to happen, considering the high prices of the system PSVR2. A price drop to 50% in year 2 for the PSVR2 also.
And I'll add in Astrobot Rescue Missions VR upgraded to PSVR2, with a sequel in the works hopefully.

I think VR enthusiasts will have a great time with this headset but I don't see it breaking into the market much further than what we've already seen. Sony are already so hesitant to produce true PS5 exclusives so it's hard to imagine them tying up a lot of resources for AAA games that not only require a PS5 but also this expensive headset. I think indie studios will continue to carry the VR load for a long time with the occasional VR port of a major studio game and even more rare AAA VR-exclusives.

Yes, good points. The price barrier and acquiring both the rare PS5 and PSVR2 definitely are a wall at first until prices drop and inventory stock rises for people to buy more of. Only 2 million PSVR2's world wide so far, and if those sell out or not.

Indie developers, unless they are charging more for games, will have a smaller audience at first than the PSVR1 audience, which was up to 5 million.
I've seen games on PSVR's PSN store that only have a few ratings, compared to other PSVR games that have thousands of ratings, suggesting some games rarely are bought or reviewed.

Uggh, why can't amazon.com put up a preorder like its Canadian store. Then I could at least pre-order it and the price would come down.

Yeah all that’s what I’m looking for, I’ve just not felt what it’s like. A new gaming experience is exciting to me even though I’m sure the allure will wear off just as fast. I think experiencing vr now that the tech has gotten to a certain place makes sense. Am really into the idea of horror games in vr now, and there’s a bunch coming up some with and without the vr but could still get it later I guess. Dead Space remake, Calisto Protocol, Silent Hill, etc?

Yes, that would be cool if those games could be made into VR games.
The new tracking with the controls and no camera will no doubt be a major improvement too.
