I bought the same from them last fall and totally love it. The only thing is that the menu organization is totally fu**ed. There wasn't anything wrong with it, but the volume knob on the main body wasn't smooth and new it was scratched up. Can't ever see or notice it though so I'm happy.

![]() ![]() Was going through fine on YCbCR 4:2:2 and the other day the picture looked weird. I looked at the Receiver menu and it was saying RGB 4:4:4. ???? I went into my player and changed it to YCbCr 4:4:4 it's fine. I go back earlier and see 4:2:2 and it's fine again like nothing happened, |

Quick question if I may....
How do you pay a blu-ray for video and use a 2nd blu-ray player for audio on a Denon 1910? I am trying to play wizard of oz blu-ray while playing pink Floyd dark side of the moon on the other blu-ray player. How do you go about that? |

Anybody out there have issues with refurbed Denon 1513 from Accessories4Less?
Wanted something simple for the office conference room, 2 channel stereo with HDMI input so can have sound during presentations. Did not need 5.1 or anything fancy or loud. Settled on the Denon AVR-1513 from A4L since it was only $140 for a refurb. Out of the box the unit is going into protection mode after 4-5 minutes, no matter what I try. With speakers connected and playing music all is good, no issues until it shuts down after 4-5 minutes. Not playing loud, less than 50 % max. With nothing connected at all and after a factory reset (power btn + source select up + source select down) which ends up with 0.0 volume output, same result. Tried different outlets, etc. nothing changes the problem. Speakers and wiring verified, nothing bad there, no shorts or stray strands. Now I have to go through Denon to get it replaced but it is a thousand questions about speakers, room, ventilation, etc. and still no RMA WTF Did I make a mistake by buying from A4L? They just want to pass the buck to Denon. Brand new (refurbed) just out of the box and it is not usable. Great quality control. Assuming I can get to the bottom of this early next week, it will be another week before I have sound working in the conf room. Anybody else have similar problems with Denon refurbs and/or A4L? Curious to know if I am just that unlucky, or this is more common than you'd expect. ![]() |

I also bought an Onkyo PR-SC886 pre-pro from them some time back that did not have any issues. All in all, apart from the warranty thing, I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again. Last edited by red_5ive; 02-22-2014 at 02:25 AM. |

My impressions were the same with A4L. I can't remember exactly what the owner told me why I had to go with the warranty vs. a return, but he was very cordial and great to work with. |

Hi everyone!
Quick question: I just recently acquired a AVR-X4000. Love the sound. But everytime I change the input source or the audio format I get a noticable popping noise or a rather sizzling cracking. I don't mean the loud pop when you turn on the device. The volume level is always the same. It doesn't get louder when I turn the volume up. I checked all the cables (hdmi and speaker cables). Unplugged the subwoofer, the LP-player and the radio. Nothing changed. I did a soft and hard reset - nothing changed. Is this normal, does anyone experience that as well. Your help is deeply appreciated! Thanks! Best -Blue Jay ![]() |

Not a silly question but....
Is the sound coming from your TV???? It might be a HDMI handshake issue between components (which I've experienced in the past). Firmware update may correct it???? Ignore if not the case..... Goodluck |

I also have the x4000 and heard the popping when changing inputs. I recently got an apc h15 and the popping almost completely went away. I'm assuming one the filters in the power conditioner is helping to eliminate it, but I don't know the science behind why. I just plugged it in to the h15 the other day, so I haven't had a lot of time to test it.

That's interesting that it started with the sub. If you try a filtered outlet and see a difference or find a different solution let me know. I originally had the receiver and sub both plugged into the high current filter and didn't see a difference. It wasn't until I switched the receiver over to the analog filter that I noticed a difference in the pops. Good luck!

Anybody else notice you need to be at a much higher volume level to establish the desired sound? I'm cranking blu's up to -10db on my x4000, which produces about the same listening level of -20db on my old pioneer. Seems like I'm always having to turn it up quite a bit more on all sources.

So I'm still getting a slight popping/static when the denon x4000 powers down, changes inputs, or encoder changes. Seems to have gotten worse, but maybe it's in my head. I don't have any issues when actually watching content. I'm using b&w 683's for the front, 685's in the rear, htm61 for the center and asw610 sub. I've unplugged everything except a single speaker and could still hear the pop when I changed inputs. I chatted with Denon customer support and they said it was because the speakers weren't a good match. I know the impedance rating is an average, but all the b&w's have a nominal rating of 8 ohm. As Blue Jay posted, it's the same sound regardless of what level my volume is at.
I'm reluctant to add an external amp to fix the issue, but I will if I'm underpowered. Am I missing something though? |
