I think I prefer the one on the bottom (due to composition, as well as filling in more of the black area), but I like the shade of red on the top one better. Regardless, the bottom version looks like something I could see on a store shelf (with maybe "Limited Edition" or Special Edition" on the top portion, going behind the main title on the upper right side).

Where can I get the program that takes a cover that I make and displays it on a Blu-Ray case like that? Does it cost anything?

Here's an update on my Little Fockers custom that I started a couple weeks back. Up until last night I hadn't worked on it in a good while. Things got busy and I just haven't had that much time for it, even if it is a rather 'pedestrian' cover:





As previously stated, my goal is to make it match and line up with the cases/covers from the first two movies on Blu-Ray. I did a quick very low-res test print on regular paper tonight and put it in a BD case to see how it would line up with the other two movies. It's going pretty well, I may nudge the Universal logo and number at the bottom, and possibly the BD logo at the top to, but otherwise it's matching up nicely!

It's called Imandix; there's a free version which displays a bar across the final render, but the full version does cost.

you could if you dont want to have the bar across it get a template for photoshop, its a slightly lengthy process but it works, seen one on deviantart

Not a bad start, but I have a few things to address. First, the whole "book" style is great, but the spine stands out like a sore thumb. It looks "slapped on", instead of meshing with the front and back panels. Also, the screenshots on the back are way too small, and the Region 2 logos (if that's what they are) are throwing me off as well. At this point, I'd give a score of 6/10 to what you've come up with; keep working on it, though!

A lot of people have mailed me about my Pixar collection over the last few months and I'm sorry to say that it's hard to find time to finish them. And since everybody had their own opinion on how to improve them I've decided to share the Photoshop file (CS5) with all the covers so everybody can make their own tweaks to them. Right click and choose "Save link as..."

I agree with the other comments about the spine. It seems to be not laid in very well between the front and back. The 'metalic' pieces on the edges of the front back don't really need to be on the inside that connects to spine but if they are then they should be represented some how on the spine.

The logos are UK and your UK so it fits. I don't like them but if you are going for the UK feel then you are on the right track. I think placing them on the spine, front and back is excessive but I believe that is true to reality.

Do you plan on adding other stuff to the back? You could try making the pictures slightly larger and then put one in each corner, see how that looks.

How did you come up with "The Dark Knight Trilogy" as the subtitle? TDK is the second of the three movies. Wouldn't "The Christopher Nolan Trilogy" fit better?

Thanks for that, it's the kind of critique I was hoping for, will keep at it and hopefully come up with a good comp

Personally, I adore the back; I think you should go with more of that "feel" for the front, and make the pictures there smaller or less dominant, let a bit more cover show somehow; maybe it's just that Aslan's head could be cut out instead of being in a square, or made into an embossed look?
