What's with all the "0% Off" stuff showing in the "deals"? It started a while ago and now is getting ridiculous, yesterday lots of the first page were them. Some "deal" with the forum and amazon? Has amazon found some other way to get around the pricing filters? amazon's "% off" thing is virtually useless anyway, since the MSRPs in Canada keep changing, and anybody who'd buy discs based on that is far beneath beginner status, no way they'd be here.

It's probably the new MSRP in Canada and since it's new it shows in deal.

For at least several weeks the US Amazon has been doing weird things with some MSRP's, and the Canadian version is probably doing the same. At least here in the States, when this happens the msrp listed is not real and so this site goes off the price rather than msrp. Which is to our benefit as members of this site.

Example: Movie with a $40 MSRP (in reality and everywhere else) goes to $8, which is a new lowest price, or close to it. That is a deal and this site should show it, even if Amazon for whatever reason shows the MSRP as $8 too, or $8.10, or something similar. The percentage is wrong, but the pricing (and so the deal) is good.

^ I see what you're saying. I checked a few of the "0% off" titles and the MSRP has definitely been significantly reduced from what it was originally. And the price shown here is quite a lot less than the new MSRP, so yes, it is somewhat of a deal. Question answered!

Does anyone know much about the X-Men: The Future Past Collection that is on sale today? Do the first three X-Men movies have the special feature discs that originally came with those movies? And how are the movies presented, just the regular blu-ray cases in a slipbox?

Thanks.

Edit: Nevermind

.ca has The Peanuts Movie 3D for $21.99 -- anyone know who they are price-matching? It's not Walmart or BB, unless there's a new batch released...

Why don't you just order it from amazon instead of trying someone to match the price?

Maybe he doesn't want to price match per se. Maybe he wants to know who they're matching prices with, so he can go to that store and get a nice copy with slip etc., or just so he can have it now, or so he doesn't have to pay shipping from amazon if there's nothing else he wants there.

amazon can't be relied on for slips, and they do seem to match the prices of only certain stores.

Just speculating...I can't be bothered to price-match myself, I do what you said, go to the place who has the low price. I think stores who offer price-matching are lazy, and want you to do the work instead of them having good prices, period.

Lol, what? It's called being competitive. I've never heard of someone complaining and not wanting to get a good price on something before. What if in your general area you don't have a retailer who is offering the best price on a product? Then what do you do?

I've NEVER seen a Pixar title that cheap. Get it while it's hot.

I think you partly missed what I was saying. You are correct that I don't "price-match". I think I've only done it a handful of times, usually too much trouble at the local BB and WM, I wouldn't even attempt at HMV, and that's pretty much all I have here. Easier to order it from amazon. I am cheap, but not to the point of going to much trouble about it...let's call it "conveniently cheap".

OTOH, why doesn't the store just have good prices to start with? That seems easier for everybody. Instead of making you go to the trouble of finding a good price...that's all I meant re that. I truly can't be bothered driving around to "save" a few bucks.

The OP was asking about a B&M that already had the lowest price. Why would you want to go to a B&M who has the same price as amazon? That's what I was speculating on, not why shouldn't he buy it from amazon in the first place. I guess you could price-match with amazon, I've done it before a few times at BB. [To put it another way, the OP was asking about a B&M in an amazon thread, and I speculated on "why"considering they both have the same "lowest" price. That's all.]

Costco had them for 12.49 a few months back, that's when I got mine. It also was normally priced at 14.99 a year and a half ago.

But yes, given the fact this one title now normally goes for 19.99, this is pretty good.

Also Brave and Inside Out are both 19.99.

Instant delivery, free shipping and in perfect condition. That are the reasons why. Some may want to reward the B&M that amazon was price matching.
