The next number to watch is the weekly drop off rate. Any guesses? I'm saying 70%.

I'm going with 80% because word of mouth is going to kill whatever life is left in this movie.

80% would put it in the top 10 ever but I think it might be close.

I foresee a $3 million Monday so I don't think it'll be quite that bad.

Here is another multimillion dollars gone down the drain (as I've expected) which is disgrace. I'm not surprised at all because, I knew this movie was going to be a hot mess. I wouldn't pay 10 cents to see it.

This animated series is pretty good, but Dr. Doom is yet again not done well.

It is...hard to do the more complicated villains well. It requires either a phenomenal well-cast actor in the role or perfect writing. Or both. The last examples I can think of villains that were done well are Zod, Ronan, Magneto, Bane and Jack Napier.

This movie truly was a mess. The cgi was horrible, Doom looks ridiculous, there was no chemistry between the actors, the story was choppy and incoherent, definitely the worst movie I've seen in the theater in a long time.

Spoiler related observations:
[Show spoiler]After the movie my teenage daughter asked me, "Why were two 30 year old men at a high school science fair?". She didn't know they were supposed to still be in high school.

Before transporting themselves to the new dimension, they transport the worst looking cgi monkey in the history of cinema. I was setting there looking at it wondering why didn't they just use a real monkey? All it had to do was set in chair for a few seconds.

When Reed, Johnny, and Victor decide to transport themselves to the new dimension, they don't call up Sue to go with them who was instrumental to the project, instead Reed calls up Ben who hasn't been around in what I'm assuming is years, and evidently Johnny and Victor are fine with him coming along. Not to mention it's like four in the morning and Ben basically gets up in the middle of the night and comes along with no questions asked.

When they get to the new dimension, there is pulsating and glowing liquid all around, which they immediately go stick their hands in as if it were the green slime we used to make fart noises with when we were kids.

Reed's character is almost impossible to like. His decision to bring Ben along turned his buddy into a rock monster, Reed apologizes and pledges to fix him, but then bails to never be heard from again. I understand that he was working on a cure while away, but it would have been nice to not leave Ben hanging thinking his buddy had bailed on him.

When the scientist go back to the other dimension, they find Doom, who can barely walk and looks to be on his death bed. They transport him back to earth, where his limp and whatever ailments he had before are long gone, and now he can explode your head with telekinesis!

Doom basically just wants to go back home to his world in the other dimension, but old man Baxter feels he needs to stay on Earth, which earns old man Baxter a good ole telekinetic barbecuing. The whole thing rubs Victor the wrong way enough that somehow he teleports to Metropolis and steals one of the terraforming machines from Man of Steal, and begins to use it to suck the Earth into a black hole.

The Fantastic Four show up to stop him, and get their asses beat down in about 30 seconds. Reed crumples in one of the worst effects ever put on screen, but somehow he pulls himself together long enough to throw Doom into a rocky crevice stunning him for a few seconds. In that time they come to the realization that they can't defeat Doom individually, but together they might have a chance, at which point they basically do exactly the same maneuvers they used before, but because they do them together this time they work. Ben punches Doom into the terraforming beam, where Doom disintegrates, and then they jump into the beam where lucky for them they are transported back to earth.

Evidently a good old battle was just the cure Ben needed to get over his hostility to Reed for turning him into a rock monster, because while only a few moments earlier in the film Ben had told Reed they were no longer friends, now he tells Reed, as well as Johnny and Sue, that everything is just fantastic, which of course gives Reed the idea to name the gang The Fantastic Four!

I know these are simplified versions of events from the film, but I think they are accurate enough to express why I thought the movie wasn't very good.

1.5/5 rounded up to a 2 for the poll.

Dr. Doom shouldn't be that hard to do. Just look at a very famous character that was inspired by him.

Even Darth Vader, possibly the most well-known non-comic book villain of all-time has been butchered in the PT. And that's coming from someone who thinks the PT is superior to the OT. I thought McMahon did great, I blame the slight over-hamminess in the role on the writing in the first 2 films, which I did still enjoy.

Honestly other than the powers being awesome it was mediocre and reeked of cuts and studio problems. But it was nowhere NEAR the worst superhero movie. What hyperbole getting thrown around. That said it reminded me of the sad efforts of most of the fox movies. It was definitely mostly missed opportunities but I did like the casting even if the script failed them.

DOOM sucked. So much. Powers were cool look was horrendous.

The waiting game basically. If Fox does not make a new Fantastic Four movie in a given period, the rights will revert. Or Fox has the option to sell back. Might take the sting out of not making back the budget on the movie, but then again, with Deadpool and X-Men: Apocalypse going to make money, maybe they already believe they can write this one off.

As to a sequel... Lord, I really don't know. Fox may want to try, but it would have to be something on the order of TDK quality to get the audience back and even that's a maybe right now.

The more I think about it, the more I think the behind the scenes on this movie is fascinating. It's been kept so quiet the suspected problems for so long, now the reshooting, apparently massive, are confirmed. The question is did the reshooting help salvage the first half, which the concensus is was boring, but not bad or damn the third act, which everyone is saying what sank the movie? As I said, the more time that goes on and the more that eventually comes out, it's going to be a really interesting, if cautionary, tale.

And I will come back one more time to what I said Thursday - yes, I want the rights to revert. Yes, I did not want the movie to succeed. But I'm not so malicious as to basically see fire and brimstone rained down, which appears to be happening. I know the movie had supporters here and elsewhere and I'm truly sorry that your faith and confidence has taken such a drubbing.
