Can you also clarify the sold out statement; you mention the run was limited to 1000 copies, but only three quarters were sold... how is it considered sold out then?

Hello Tom, Greetings. I want to say, for titles like this that are unique or just limited you might want to consider an early pre-order option. You could do 2, 3 maybe even 4 months out. That can be a great way to gauge interest. For titles where there is a strong demand (like this one)you could've easily doubled the limited number from 1000 to 2000 and still possibly have a sellout in short time, ie (a few months). You also may save a little per unit on the pressing/replication process. I could be wrong but the bigger the order, the cheaper the per unit cost is to you. Could you imagine doing a 3000 print run, what's left at the end of the year have a sale. It'll definitely give your label more recognition and fans. Anyway's thanks for the reply, and congrats on a The Dead Pit sell out. I can't wait to get one eventually lol.

Hello, Tom here. I am allowed as the new acting General Manager of Dark Force Entertainment to make statements on the companies behalf and therefore have been granted access to this account. Although it is possible I may have my own account on here at some point.

I would be happy to clarify the sold out statement regarding the Dead Pit Collector's Edition release and associated bundles. The store went live at approximately 4pm Pacific time on the 4th of July. There was an immediate down pour of sales which continued very heavy for approximately 3 hours. By 9 pm Pacific time Dead Pit and all the bundles were completely sold out. Dave had mentioned previously I believe that they were not going to put up the entire inventory right away. I don't have the exact numbers but I can tell you approximately 400 individual units were put up and they sold out the fastest and then another approximately 250 in the various bundles. Dark Force had a lot of money in this release and now way could have put up less inventory. We needed to start recovering the money. In retrospect Dark Force probably could have done a 2000 run but this being the first of these type and the fact that Bill wanted a lot of money from Dark Force to license the movie, we leaned more toward the conservative side. Initially we were going to try and create a blinking eyes box which did not pan out at all. So we had considerable risk even trying to create something that we believed would generate a lot of attention. It was a gamble all across the board but fortunately it paid off for Dark Force in a big way. I hope that was able to answer your questions. Best, Tom, General Manager, Dark Force
