As in a previous post i mentioned that we grabbed a energy micro RC 5 for 170... just seen the set with the sub for 250.00

Next month ill be picking up my BIC F12,,, was i crazy not to go for the 250.00 micro set up,?

hello all,

it's been a while since my last post. I paired my rc-30's with a rotel rsp-1068 for 2-channel music system. WOW, rotel & energy

I think I will be needing to replace my Energy RC-10's up front as I might have damaged them somehow. I'm no longer getting full range out of them and my dealer has confirmed that my receiver is working correctly. I might be back to speaker shopping sooner than expected.

By the way, it looks like the Veritas bookshelf speakers are getting harder to find. I was thinking I would replace them with the Veritas but I could only find one online distributor after doing an online search. I was buying all my Energy speakers from Vanns, but they don't show any on their site either.

Mike i believe that vanns went outta business or filed ch11 or something like that. It also appears that the veritas speakers have been discontinued.

Thanks Steve, I figured you would know what's going on. Anyway, I will have to retract what I said earlier. I just returned home with my receiver and performed the experiment I should have before. I wired up the RC-10's I was using as surrounds and it sounds the same, my receiver's output has diminished considerably so I will be bringing the receiver back to my dealer and he's sending it out to the manufacturer for diagnostics. I believe my speakers are fine.

That's great donaldsonjune, glad you're enjoying your setup. I've been considering doing something different for 2 channel music myself, just not sure yet what I'll do.

Thanks Steve, that looks like a wonderful deal on some 2 month old Dyns. I just wish I was ready I would jump on that in a New York minute. I'll be demoing some Paradigms pretty soon with my Integra dealer. That is the only brand he sells and he swears by them. I'll give em a listen.

When it is all said and done I will probably end up with a pair of those Dyns in the end. I get the feeling that you and i have very similar tastes in the kind of sound we like. I got a feeling I would like those Dyns.

Paradigms are good speakers. your speakers will be more on par with the Studio 10s. they'll have a different presentation, more forward then what youre hearing now. the dyns will fall in-between in sound; but very open and transparent with good strong bass.

last night I decided to pull out my old Onkyo 727 and hook it up to the RC-10's while my Integra will be out for repair. I'll be using it to play music only, don't even have it connected 5.1 for home theater for obvious reasons (old technology). All I can say is WOW, I had forgotten how good music sounded from this beast. Anyway, I won't go into a long drawn out description of the sound I heard, needless to say, Miles Davis' "Kind of Blue" sounded fantastic. I think I could build a nice 2 channel system around this beast, which will leave me more money to devote to a nice set of speakers. Time to do some auditions.

I was and i should have them patiently waiting at my dealer thopught of picking em up on the way back but the car wa loaded so will go on the weekend the dealer is something like 30 miles from my place. I can't wait
