I LOVE Emotiva and your probably right - they might come out with a preamp equivalent to the Onkyo I intend to purchase. However, I don't intend to wait that long and before upgrading to HDMI and Blu, almost all of my components were Onkyo. Just MHO!

Thanks for this bigred. I always wondered how the Rockets would fare against the Emo's, and with the Ninja crossovers to boot. I was seriously considering adding the Ninja to my Rockets, but I really don't want an "in your face" speaker so I'll keep things as is with the Sigs. Nice write-up - makes me wish I could have been there!

actually the ninja rockets are less in your face than the Rocket Sigs. I was just meaning in comparison to the 8.3's they were in your face

Oh, now that's interesting, because I think the sigs are already a little laid back to begin with. I don't know if I want to go further in that direction, either. And actually, after adding the XPA-2 & XPA-5, that "what if" feeling has started to dwindle. I think the Sigs match perfectly with the XPA-2 & XPA-5 that I've been getting less motivated to change out the crossover. Heh, and actually I now have Mac's Rocket RS250 bookshelves with the original crossover, but he also sent them with the Sigs... I was debating installing them in favor of the Ninja, but it looks like I will be installing them now.

So this morning I actually got to sit down and crank up Transformers (and True Romance) because the wife and kids left for the airport at 4 in the morning. Wow that thing is incredible! Reference level is so much less than the 663 and what amazing dynamic impact.

I had a ground loop hum with the unit and throught the speakers which the new Panamax took care of. The clarity is phenomenal. The amp really drives the NHTs with style. Can't wait to get that UMC to jettison the 663 damn it.

I went into a local audio place this morning to look at the Yamaha 1900 as a processor, but I don't think there would be a difference in SQ. Worth it? Wait for the UMC? Any comments?

Anyway, I'm just starting to demo all my Blus over the next week, and what an incredible start. That UPA is just willd. Thank you Emotiva.

P.S. Nice shots on the emotiva lounge of the weekend!

In your case, I would suggest to wait for the UMC-1 over getting the RX-V1900. Since you have an external amp, getting a pre/pro will be more value for the money vs getting a receiver (since then you will pay for the amp in the receiver). However, I would wait for reviews of the UMC-1 before jumping in. The UMC-1 looks very promising component wise.

...or if you want to wait longer, you could get the XMC-1 :P

On my part, I will probably wait for the XMC-1.

Can you give me any details on the XMC-1. I'm unfamiliar with it. Thanks!
