Haven't heard the Sig C2s but from what I remember from the old C2s that I had, I would imagine their resolution is close to that of the C4s but just are not capable of that huge sound stage and scale and dynamics.

I'll be auditioning some Dynaudios after the holidays. Looking forward to seeing what all the rage is about.

I can imagine that the dynamics and soundstage of the C4's is pretty awesome!

Tried out the new center for the first time last night, it sounded good. I took it easy on it, can't wait to get some hrs on it and then see what it can really do!

I want to hear the Focus, Contour and Confidence. Obviously there is a pretty big price difference in the 3 series. If the Confidence blow me away I'll be selling one of my toys to finance them. Funny thing is, I called a Chicagoland Dynaudio dealer and asked if they carried the Contours and he said no that they were a 10 year old design and that the new stuff ( Excite, Focus and Confidence) was much better. Not sure how true that is?

I like my Focals but I'm looking for something "more". I know you and Callas are the Dyn experts. I look forward to any advice the both of you have to offer.

Why don't you just let the SCX play at low levels while you're away at work or when you're asleep at night? That's how I break in my speakers and components.

Yup, CALLAS is THE EXPERT alright! He know's it all! He'll be able to tell you the EXACT differences and nuances each speaker line has to offer.

Might I ask which dealer in Chicagoland you inquired from?

Dyn's are a new thing for me so I'm not as familiar with all the different lines as Steve and Rhett, I'll defer to them. I can tell you I'm enjoying the ones I've got right now.

You've got the biggest fanboi of them all right in your backyard. Rhett is very helpful and knowledgeable about Dynaudio.

I just got the center hooked up last night and did let it play overnight, in fact it's still going right now. I'll let it play all weekend.

It sounds smaller, doesn't fill the space between the L&R speakers as much. kind of an unfair comparison so far as the SCX was fresh out of the box. I will have to say that the big Paradigms centers are very good. That was something that made me think twice about switching out the Digms, the C5 was awesome!

I think once the SCX is broken in and I give it some juice it'll come alive! It is nice to be able to handle the center channel on my own, the C5 was so big that it was difficult to handle on your own without bumping it into things. I was always afraid of chipping or scratching it when handling it on my own, luckily I was able to avoid that.

The most immediate difference I noticed when watching a movie for the first time was the presence of the 5.4's, much more enveloping and powerful than the S6's. Even though the tweeter is one the bottom I noticed a greater sense of height with the 5.4's.

That's great! I know you'll fill us in on how the S CX performs with more amplification and post break-in!

I most certainly will, if the SCX performs as well as the 5.4's have I'll so pleased that I wouldn't be to not tell you guys!

I will say that even at lower levels the 5.4 /dual SubM combo is impressive, can't wait to hear them at some higher levels. Sounds really powerful and the blend together really well. Extremely happy with the 5.4's so far, they seem to be giving me all the things I felt I was missing all this time!

I hear you! That's why after, your dissatisfaction from the C1s, your dealer recommended the 5.4s with a little coercing from the Dyn expert-Steviana!

It was the perfect recommendation!

The weird think is that the 110's seem to pull just as much current as the towers and from what I remember the C1's pulled even more. I still think the 5.4's need some stout amplification but I think it's a must with the Dyn bookshelves! They just soak up a the current. I'm still kind of shocked at how much power the 110's will take, I knew that the C1's would as you guys warned me about that.

How about your C4's? More or less efficient than any of your other Dyns?

I'm running the amp off of a dedicated 20amp circuit now and dividing the amps between the two PPP's. Put my Monster power center back into service for the for the tv, bdp etc. Not lacking juice at this point in time.

Hmmm... I'm not surprised about their statement regarding the Dynaudio line. Did you talk to Ken or John at ProMusica by any chance, when you called? If and when you make it there, it would also come to no surprise if they try and sell Sonus Fabers to you!

Anyways, you and John(Bluvette) should meet up and try to audition together since you both are on the hunt for some Dyns. There are 2 other dealers in the North Burbs that may be closer to you.

The 110s are pretty inefficient, and were more like the old audience line in that regard. But I was able to power them with a 25 watt tube IA and were more than decent at moderate levels when they were in our master bedroom.

The C4s are somewhat more efficient than the Sapphires but needs a lot more current so they can get louder! But I am only limited to 75 watts x 2 and could hardly push the volume past 2 o'clock because it gets deafening!

Define "stout" amplification though because if your amps are spec'd honestly, you should not need more current/power than what they already say they have on paper? Then again, I hardly push my systems to the limit...

I'm glad that you now have 20amps they can help out with the over all performance. I have 2 separate and discrete 20 amp circuits for my basement and one in the living room.

They do indeed meet the published specs,
http://www.hometheaterhifi.com/power...the-bench.html

I can drive the speakers to deafening levels with headroom to spare. I was referring more to a typical AVR if you want to get the best the speakers have to give. I'm sure your Octave is more than up to the task.

I bought some bulk 10awg extension cord and some descent ends, made a couple of 15ft cords that I feed the PPP's with from another room in the basement. Kind of ghetto but that's the best I can do at the moment.

Been using your system in the basement at all lately?

Gotcha on the amplification.

Instead of making a long ass ext cord, would it be better and safer on the long run to just hire an electrician to install another outlet in your basement?

The HT is rarely used! I do intend to run speaker wires through the walls this weekend if i am not feeling lazy but that's a big "If"! I am also waiting on what you can conjure up for me as far as a sub

When we renovated the basement I had 3 20amp & 15amp dedicated lines run, unfortunately they're in a different room of the basement where the gear was previously and where it was intended to go. The current room has been a somewhat long term/ temp solution. In another 6-8 months the gear will be moved back into that room, don't want to pay to run more lines into the current room just to use for a few months. Hence the extension cords.

Get off your lazy azz and get it done Rhett, start using your HT system!
