It will be interesting to see the price of Battlestar Galactica: The Complete Series when it goes on sale tomorrow. Hopefully it is cheap enough for me to finally buy it.

Still a bit too expensive for me. Was hoping for the price to be $99.99.

^ You kiddin' me? Many of us were really happy to *only* pay $150 for this a year ago. Actually, $150 has been the "real" price for this for almost the total time it's been on amazon.ca, the $300 MSRP is just the usual Canadian MSRP BS.

The way I figger it is $5/BD is an excellent price in sets. Which for 21 BDs means $105. When you see that price, if you've been holding out, then buy. Besides, if the diff between $100 and $108 is a problem for you, you really shouldn't be buying at all (I mean an extra $8 spread over 21 discs...?). None of my business but just saying...if it was $200 vs $100 I could see it.

The other matter is IMO BSG is only good up until the end of S3. If you look at it that way, and you might, it's still perhaps a tad pricey.

No not kiddding. I just like to set price points for things I am interested in getting and hold out until it hits that price, because it eventually will. If I end up going over my budget for everything I buy, I will end up paying a lot more and have a lot less blu-rays.

Anyways this will be a blind buy for me. I have never seen the series, and even $100 for a blind buy is a little much.

I get it. But really, like **I** mentioned: it is less than $0.50 per disc over your price limit. So you've never paid $0.50 over your "limit" for a BD? Lucky you...I have very very few BDs (even DVDs) that cost $5 that were even worth $5. Usually good stuff is priced like good stuff...

I bought the BSG set blind too. Gotta watch that, I now know, the fans are as blind to critical viewing as the Star-whatever boys. OTOH, I bought the complete Buffy (DVD) set blind too and the Buffy fanboys weren't wrong...IMO of course...

Pricey for a blind buy but if you've watched the series already it's a fairly attractive price point.

it ends up being $96.99 + tax so in total your looking at paying $110 with is not bad for a $250 product.

I've been waiting for the price to get down as close as possible to $100 and I would be very surprised if the price goes below that, so I just ordered one since this is a one day event.

Ended up getting the Battlestar Galactica set off Amazon.ca. Just couldn't resist. Thanks for swaying me to get it cfraser. I would have probably regret not picking it up like how I regret not picking up Rome: The Complete Season when it went cheap for one day. Especially for only a few dollars difference, hard not to pick up this set.

Thanks for reminding about the option to PM, rabbit. Completely forgot about it, but all the stores near me were sold out.

Hey zeze, don't blame me lol. I was kinda being out of line with what I said, rude even, but I think you got where I was coming from: whenever you can get ~95% of what you want, you should jump on it. That's old man logic, but still, holding out for that extra few % will screw you more often than not...IME. What if this is a "dumping" of the BSG complete set in Canada? I doubt this is the case this time, but the $8 over your limit, hell, you'll probably blow $8 on something disposable/insignificant in the next couple days and it'll be gone, but BSG will give you many many days of viewing. Hope you like it. The first 3 seasons are very good, but something happened around Razor or S4. It's still decent, but seemed to get meandering and less coherent and visionary around then. Anyway, the discs are very intelligently packaged and view them in the order they're placed in the holders. You'll see what I mean.

I don't know about lately (not much into PMing), but I know that FS *used to* PM amazon.ca, in fact they advertised it. Also, they *used to* have working internet PCs that customers could access to check prices online. And further, the salespeople *used to* lol check for you, sometimes even when you didn't ask. Ah the good old days of the "oughties"... ('00-'09)

Lol, I was not blaming you. I was genuinely thanking you for convincing me to get it. It was only $8 and I have been wanting to get this for along time. If it was not for your convincing, I would not have picked the set up, and tomorrow would have regretted not picking it up.

Also I can't wait to watch this. I am 90% sure I will enjoy this show.
