Or the Still Scary: The Ultimate Scary Movie Retrospective documentary that ended up on the last Scream set...it was an independently made film that just as likely could have had a stand alone release (and would have, if they hadn't picked it up for the set).

I'm not sure if this has already been mentioned here:

Well in this case, WB would have had to license the documentary to include it, and then replicate it many thousands of times on either a single BD or multiple DVDs, which would, in turn, jack up the price of the F13 box set astronomically, because I'm sure, given that it's seven hours long, this documentary isn't going to be that cheap to license when it's brand new. I also highly doubt you would have the commentary and extras that the standalone release would include, because that would mean even higher fees for WB, and I wouldn't be surprised if a F13 set with just the seven hour documentary on DVDs would cost a good $30-$40 more for the consumer. That would price out a number of fans who only want the films.

Much better to have this as a standalone release--this way, you can get it on BD, with extras and a bonus disc, and probably far cheaper than you could get it if it were bundled in the F13 set.

It's for the people that will be attending the signing. You were given a number when you ordered if you replied and said you were attending. I believe that's how they're going to sort people out when the time comes, instead of people just rushing in and it getting out of control.

How is this documentary? Is it good enough to warrant buying the Scream Box set for it? I have actually been looking at buying the Scream movies in the near future and had pretty much written off the box set because I could get the individual releases for a bit cheaper, but if the Doc is good I'll likely go back to wanting the set instead. Does it cover only Scream, or slashers as a whole?

It is a pretty good documentary and only covers the trilogy. I tend to enjoy 'Scream: The Inside Story' better, which is also included in the boxset along with Still Screaming. I think it's a good bargain to get two feature length documentaries in that boxset.

If you guys pre-ordered for the signing by mail you wouldn't have been given a number. Numbers are for in-person attendees. If you didn't get an email, though, you should probably contact their customer service.
