Interesting. I rented the Quigley Down Under UHD, another Shout title, and had the same exact issue. I initially chalked it up to some sort of odd compatibility error but it exhibited the same behavior on another player. I wonder what could cause this?

Got a replacement—same issue. I wonder if it is some kind of compatibility error. I have an LGUBK90–perhaps this will be the thing to push me over the edge to upgrade to a Panasonic. Never had this issue before!

It's the BD-Java on disc menus that Shout use. I had it happen before with their releases, until I did a firmware update on my player... and that fixed the issue.

If you don't have updated firmware installed, then it will show no menus on screen when it loads up. It also happens with other non-Shout releases sometimes, but not often.

I don't believe it was a firmware issue in my case as it happened on both my Panasonic UB820 and my Xbox Series X. Both were up to date at the time. As my problem disc (Quigley Down Under) was a rental, I never bothered getting a replacement.

Nevertheless, updating your firmware is always worth trying if you run into problem discs.
