Well, to be a little more serious, in Reese's mind, the killing of the T-600, and helping Marcus with the Hunter Killer probably showed his moxy and his willingness to fight the machines and help others. In John's mind, he's giving it to him to keep him close. I'm thinking Reese is going to be quite the character if there's a sequel (possibly filling the hole left by the death of Marcus).

If you think about it...Skynet or whoever had the power to send the first terminator back in time to try and kill sarah conner. then they sent back the liquid terminator from T2 to kill john...Then T3 they sent back a more advanced terminator to kill john and the other kids that would be leaders in the war later.

Why cant skynet send a more advanced terminator back to when salvation was going on?....And if they sent back the more advanced terminators so early shouldnt the future be rushed a little bit since they did get some of the technology that time around?

And the terminator knew of sarah conner of course...he was looking for her..and in T2 they was looking for john...skynet somehow knows of the whole family...guess we will find out later how they know and how the time travel works.

It sucks in a good way!

Kind of like Torque and Exit Wounds... haha

Seriously though, the action was top notch even though the movie was lame... it was great everytime Christian Bale was not in the picture. The whole John Connor stuff was very weak.

I'm thinking that it's not that easy to use the time displacement machine. Also (something I posted like 40 pages ago). I'm thinking that the time travel is a set number of years they can travel (a set window). That would explain why the technology in the Terminators themselves advanced with each one. 10 years between T1 and T2 then another 10 or so for T3.

They cut a whole lotta John Connor stuff that will be included in the deleted scenes. I'm wondering what those scenes would have added...

I thought it was a good movie. It was the one that I was looking forward to. I couldn't care less about Transformers 2 or Angels and Demons. I did enjoy Star Trek, though I wasn't really looking forward to it.

The only other movie on the horizon, for me, is Inglorious Basterds.

It's so funny watching and reading people raising hell about the "machines who do not make noise until they are right unto you". I mean, did none of you guys, ever watched 80's flicks ? Remember Lethal Weapon ? It's a movie, the helicopters, machines, whatever, are SUPPOSED to not make any noise until they are right unto you. That's a definition of the whole 80's action genre !

What next ? "slashers are idiotic because the victims stays in the house after the first kill instead or running out of here" ?

There is one part in the movie that I thought was a great bit of acting/emotion.

[Show spoiler]When the black actor (with the dead brother), was shooting Marcus. He shoots him, and Marcus screams in pain. Then when the girl takes over to shoot him, Marcus just takes it quiet - like it hurt him really deep.

I just thought I'd share that moment that just came back to me. I still think it's the worst of the terminators, but it isn't horrible by any means.

This movie would have been good if they had more battle scenes. They are supposed to be at war with the machines and this movie lacked this. Its sad that the best action scenes came from the minefield escape. And I say sad because they were fighting themselves and not the machines. Movie was lame and a blockbuster bust. And thats proven by it only making about $43 million in 3 days. Sad.

Well, I still don't know how one actually "earns" a red armband. It can't be for killing a terminator. Reese said he hadn't "earned" it - maybe I was taking that too literally.

The thing is - in Terminator one - Reese states that they had basically destroyed Skynet and that Skynet used it's last resources to send the Terminator back in time to destroy the leader of the resistance's mother. It was deperation on Skynet's part. At least, that was how I saw it.

The fact that they keep sending one after another is really kind of a silly plot device after a while. Terminator 3 really started to push the limits of accepting sending 1 person back each time etc. Terminator 3 probably needed to be the machines actually rising up (without the whole "2 beings sent back in time to do battle" storyline.)

I also wish T4 had gone into the whole "false prophet" idea - sounds like it would have been a fascinating storyline.

but that was not until 2029 this is 2018 and they have just discovered the advanced t-800.in latter part of the war the t-800 will become significant in the war for the machines.

i'm hoping they have more scenes in that 30-40minute deleted scenes that deals with the false prophet idea

Just saw it and thought it was much better than what I was expecting and way better than T3. Liked what they did with Schwarzenegger's likeness- used more than I thought it'd be. Doubtful that I'll buy it on Blu-ray though.

Interesting detailed read on what the original script for T4 was versus the rewrites once Bale was cast as Connor. May have already been posted but I haven't followed the entire thread.

What went wrong with Terminator Salvation?

I've seen it twice and wish the original was filmed. The action set pieces were great, but the Connor story sucked.

Saw the film today, I liked it.

I think that Anton Yelchin & Sam Worthington did a much better job than Bale though
