But they're getting paid, its not like the big bad bcs/ ncaa is forcing these poor little schools to come get lit up, they probably can fund their own team, maybe even some other school related activities for one game! Shoot had UMD taken the money Michigan got to get lit up, they'd have been able to save multiple teams that were no longer fiscally viable. Besides I think we all know the only team that should be scheduling Bethune-Cookman is umd

Heh, Bethune-Cookman might actually give Maryland a tough game.

Maryland is a 10.5 point underdog this week vs. Temple. Temple might actually be the best team in Pennsylvania this year.

Georgia Tech's defense has been great thus far! We've had to rely on the offense to beat teams, but it looks like the defense is planning to give them some relief this year.

Ugh, we (VT) played horrible yesterday. We couldn't find any rythme on offense. The defense played ok, but GT isn't exactly an offense powerhouse. The only shining spot - which plays to your comment and the ensuing silence, is that we were finally able to run down the field in 60 seconds, sending the game into overtime. That was always been an issue with this team (finishing the game), but yesterday, they got the job done.

GO HOKIES!

At the same time, GT's defense was just gone at that point. They only had 13 or 14 guys on defense for the game, and it just took a toll on the team.

And GT is an offensive powerhouse, at least on the ground (averaged around or over 300 yds rushing each year under CPJ). And your defense did a good job of stopping them for most of the game.

Thank God! Let some other school walk around with a target on their back.

As long as the top 4 remain in the top 4, you will essentially have a national semifinal on November 3rd -- Bama vs. LSU and Oregon vs. USC. Of course, the only difference is that Bama and LSU play each other exactly once. Oregon and USC have the potential of playing each other again in the Pac-12 championship game, so the loser of the Oregon vs. USC game CAN have a measure of redemption.

This is why these preseason polls are stupid. Alabama's beatdown of Michigan was impressive but I bet USC could have done the same thing to Michigan.

Pretty sure a win against W&M should get you at least top 23!

Hah, I'm surprised my Knights got 4 points. We won the opening game in a blowout but it was over a terrible Akron team. If our game vs. Ohio St. goes expected we'll probably lose those votes. Last I checked OSU was favored by 17.5.

This is what we call an "inappropriate reaction":

Uh oh, you're a UCF guy? Now I don't know what to think.

If I were in charge, I wouldn't allow a poll until after week four or five. But then this need we seem to have to rank things and then prattle on endlessly about them on TV and radio would result in my ouster.
