I asked Tom when the store might re-open he said possibly some time next week. Really nice for those of us who are fans and want to purchase a title likely won't get to do so due to other obligations because we're not able to be around 24/7 just to wait for a damn website to be re-opened.

I think DF made it very clear on the FB page that they prefer people to buy their titles from Ebay scalpers at 2x-4x the price... but hey, at least Ebay scalpers are open 24/7!

Few years later, someone got the lead psycho actor, looking a bit different, shot new scenes to cut in & get it R rated. Linnea Quigley in maybe her first role, is memorably very naked for an extended scene. There are quite a few rather non PC moments that are good for guffaws as well.

The re- editing seems to have all been post, each cut accompanied by a brutal tear to the soundtrack. Trauma flashbacks are endlessly used, cut in to suggest the psycho's mental anguish before he flips out, with a laughable loud wahwahwah sound effect overlaid.

PSYCHO re edit redefines so bad it's fascinating ( well, for me obviously )...

I mostly agree with all this but I'd say it's worth it. I've never seen this original version you speak of so it was all new to me. Definitely weird, low-budget, unintentionally hilarious in parts, but the Linnea Quigly scene is very memorable on several accords. I didn't even know it was her until the second time I watched actually, couldn't figure out where I'd seen her before the first time lol. I'm fine with my Code Red DVD of it but it's a minor gem imo.

Store will only open when collector hysteria and fomo reaches an insane fever pitch that is suitably satisfactory to the dark force.

Remember, the only way you can acquire that plastic disc is to stay up 24/7, refreshing the computer screen on the cartel every second of every day until otherwise noted. In summary, either make buying this movie your full time job AND your life for that matter, or don’t complain!!!

Received my Dead Pit/ Forced Entry bundle today, the slip is really nice, it's thick and shiny , not dull and thin like the other code red/scorpion slip covers. The zombie is thickly embossed and raised , glow in the dark effect is cool you can still see a lot of detail in the character.

Only complaints I have are that the main title text is not embossed and the case is not clear, just a standard Blu case.

Nothing is being held hostage.

Bill stated that he tried to get a contract so he could just release Dead Pit, but it was the filmmakers who said no. They were the ones that pushed him to buy the movie rights outright if he wanted to release it.

So in this case, I see no disrespect being cast at the filmmakers. In fact you can pretty much blame them as to why Dead Pit's rights landed in Bill's lap.

Please Tom say it ain't so. You let scalpers order multiple copies of Dead Pit? Demon quoted my post, saying how much of a fan he is for the business and genre. Surely a fan wouldn't do this. Well it's no wonder dead pit sold out in a day if scalpers were ordering. I mean even amazon germany has a limited quantity most sellers set on limited things. Ie 1 to 3 item quantity max.

I have been on the reserve with your antics and your, how should I even say this???A Vary, Vary Unorthodox business practice for a while, but now I'm seeing how and why members give you a lot of crap. If business is just business to you that's fine. We all have that right. But this is not that. this is an opportunity to make as much money as possible and fastest possible with minimal effort. That being the case you kind of have to admit if people pay $50+ more for the "scalped" copy on eBay that is no different than the regular edition other than a glow in the dark piece of cardboard, then the person paying that price is part of the problem, too. If you the consumer exercises self control and doesn't feed scalpers they will starve. If you do feed them, they will scalp even more.

I can see paying a lot for a OOP movie not available otherwise, but here you'd be paying for OOP cardboard bluntly.

They've already sold 8 with estimated delivery of Wed. Aug. 28 and Mon. Sep. 23.

What I want to know is who actually runs df. Dave has been from the start acting like it's his company but the post announcing Tom as the general manager states "My name is Tom and I have been appointed the new acting general manager of Dark Force Entertainment by Code Red." So are we to take it that CR actually owns and runs df given that they are the ones making decisions as to how it should and will be run?

It's a shame to see a company with such an open mind toward scalping. It's such an odd hill to die on and stating that scalpers are prefered as they make shipping easier is the kind of statement that will drive buyers away.
