Unfortunately those will be hard to find you could look at the used market.

They have been discontinued a while back already. Any reason for nt going with their current replacement?

I just bought a Marantz SR7007 last week to replace my Denon AVR-3310. It pairs up very nicely with my Energy RCs it sounds amazing for music as well as for movies, I am listening to music again for the first time in years. Very easy to set up for a modern AVR, it has a setup assistant that guides you through the entire process. Everything seems to be working without hiccups.

Default Energy speakers from 2001 era

My father in law was kind enough to give me his old home theatre system when he sold his house. This includes a Marantz SR9200 which I believe was their flagship receiver from 2001. He is also giving me his Energy speakers that I am assuming were purchased at the same time as the Marantz. So, probably around 2001 or 2002. I never really checked the speakers out closely but, I remember that they were like 3 center channel speakers that sat horizontally on the shelves of their entertainment center. I suppose it is possible that the left and right speakers were bookshelf speakers laid on their side but, I'm not sure. They seemed too long to be bookshelves. I think they were a lighter type of wood (not cherry) with black grills. The sub sat hidden under a chair in the corner so, I never got a good look at that either. Does anybody know what line these speakers may be from? I won't be able to go pick them up for a little bit and I am curious as to what exactly they may be. Thanks in advance for any information you offer up!

The Veritas line was their premier line for years. Its a very good speaker. If he is going to give them to you, take em... or better yet, send them my way, I need a good set of speakers for my second living room!

Yeah, I'm hoping that I am wrong about them all being center channel speakers. That just seems too odd. Gave me a Denon 5 disc cd changer too.
There's no HDMI on the Marantz so, I guess I'll just use it for listening to music.

Curious on opinions, i will be putting a projector (about 110in) in my main room downstairs and i have two audio systems (the other will go with my 60in plasma )

I have an Energy Take Classic and a Klipsch HDT1000
Which would prove most complimentary to the viewing?

Family room is about 15x13
Bedroom is about 19x12

Hello to all!!!

Finally, finally......scraped up enough dough to get my first pair of energy speakers, and wow, I am never cheating on them, well maybe if a pair of Dynaudio c4's happen to magically appear in my room (PFM)

I have wanted energy speakers since the very early 1990's, but financially it just was not possible. Then I noticed the sell off of all the rc-70's. I tried to get the Veritas, but they we're pretty much sold out everywhere I looked.

I first heard rc-70' and was not very impressed, then I brought my amp in to audition the rc-70's properly, rotel rb-1090. Bang, they came alive, and nearly brought a tear to my eye. So I left empty handed, as 2,200$ was absolutely out of the question. Luckily I noticed the sell off as mentioned, and the price was right, and. The wife felt sorry for me.

She helped me, not that the 500$ price tag is a lot for some, for us, it is rent payment. They arrived damaged, I was sad to say the least, sent them back, 2nd pair arrived worse than first pair, damn! Yet again, the third pair arrived damaged, maybe I'm not supposed to own energy speakers I thought?

Talked to store help support on phone, they sent them to me freight, and after 3 months of damaged speakers and complete sadness and 2,000 why me's.

They arrived! Hooked everything up, and I wanted to put them in my bed and sleep with them, but that would be wierd.

Currently bi-wiring them with a sunfire signature 600 (1st series) I am in heaven, absolutely heaven. I auditioned numerous speakers, B&W, PSB, KLIPSCH, VIENNA ACOUSTICS, DEF TECH, PARADIGM, and many others, it was hell dragging my amp around from store to store, but if you want to really know what speakers sound like, and are capable of, feed them proper juice!!!

I still wish I could find a pair of the Veritas, but now, it don't matter, I'm I'm heaven. From Accuser & ac/dc to zz top & zoetrope, they perform just beautiful, I could not be happier, no fatigue, no matter the volume or artist.

Like all audio recordings, shit in = shit out. They are amazing, and hands down the best speaker I have yet to hear. I am not a fan of bright speakers, maybe for movies, but music, NO.

I AM CURRENTLY USING THE EMOTIVA damn caps, xpa 1 mono's, they are Ok, but mids & highs are weak. So I hooked back up my sunfire signature, and all is great. Gary Moore, trower, Schenker, Vinnie Moore, Johnny Winter, Buddy Guy, all sound like they are in my room. Such a sweet, accurate midrange, I'm never trading them, selling them. And for the icing, I have 2 pair, I was late with rent from this, but landlord was cool about it & waved late fee.

I'm currently in save mode for a sanders magtech, I'm sure this will be an amazing marriage. Have a good weekend everyone. I have been since my rc-70's are here!

At first though, to be honest, they didn't sound "that" good, after about 40 hours, they started to get better, they are under 100 hours, and recommended for 300 for breaking in, so I am enjoying their progression! Cheers!

Dynaudio!! I hate you. Actually , thats a bit crude, i loathe you!

Want c4 so bad, but its a pipe dream, as ill never be able to get a pair. If im going dynaudio, i want a top tier speaker. I havent heard a dynaudio i didnt like. Some a wee bright , but not bad at all. I am happy as can be with my rc70's !!!

Not dynaudio, but im very happy with rc70's. Some feel they are garbage, and are firewood, me .... I love their sound. Sure the first few days were a little like "they are aweful, but after a week, i wouldnt trade em for anything. Maybe dynaudios......

Happy listening ! Best

If you alredy have the RC-70 I would say it would be a smart move to keep them as the Veritas is a slightly reworked RC-70, The takeover of Klipsch group by Audiovox has change the Vision for Energy speakers, we saw the rebranded Jamo HTIB rebranded as Energy and Veritas line that was brand new line from Energy go for clearance prices not long after audiovox takeover, this means those speakers will have very low resale value plus since your RC-70 are pretty darn close in performance to the Veritas and definitely smoother sounding, it makes them a very great speaker to enjoy with any kind of music.

Save money and enjoy the RC-70.

I can have both, should i get the veritas 6.3 just for shi*s & giggles, just to have them in the arsenal?

Dont need them, they are 700/pair like new cond. black. But for 700 is it worth it?

What happened with energy, they were always on my radar, those older huge. Eritas were and still are amazing!

Too bad about energy. They should not have sold, knowing this would happen.

Buy the 6.3? Or not?

When a much larger company make you an offer you can't refuse then you sell

Now 700$ for a pair of Veritas is very cheap and much cheaper than what they retailed for at 3K, The black finish is a piano finish and look stunning, you could buy them if you want to have both but I am certain you will end up selling one of the 2. As I said the Veritas are not that much brighter, I would say they sound more open maybe than the RC but seriously they are a reworked RC.

Energy has been sold once to Klipsch group wich was a very well respected speaker manufacturer but then Audiovox stepped in and this is where I felt it's time for something else, I was a proud owner of C-500 but I ve since moved on to the Totem brand, made in Canada.

Still considering the veritas. I will have 3 systems, front system, basement , and den system. I have 2 pairs of rc-70's. 1 pair cer vga d9, 4 pairs of bic's. Mtx pair. Way too much stuff. Considering the magtech or odyssey mono's for amps, and either the sanders preamp or parasound or maybe the nad 165bee. Not sure yet. My current ref amp is the sunfire signature.

Port plugs. How to use em?

1 speaker is near an entryway to small hallway. Other speaker is about 5 feet from a corner with a large wooden curio style cabinet to the right of the speaker.

Some songs i get mega bass, should i use the plugs on just the right speaker?
