Change is inevitable and constant, and the agents are also always changing (as they should).

People like you have convinced themselves that Millennials are responsible for everything wrong with the world, when they are the first group in a long time that actually gives a damn about the planet on a large scale. If they're snowflakes, at least they're snowflakes for the right causes.

This is like saying since a search engine censors results in China, the same search engine will censor results in the US. That's now how that works. Only a Chinese-made movie would be able to censor the US version, since they are the ones that made it. I fail to see how a movie financed/made by a western country would censor the movie for ALL territories, just to please China. Why would China care if the movie is censored, for example, in Australia?
Why are you presuming I mean Millenials? I am referring to anyone who has a shit fit every time something remotely challenging appears on screen.

In Chinese film law, a film has pretty much got to be suitable for 5 year olds as ratings don’t exist over there. Hollywood would pretty much abide by that rule if it meant more bucks. The downside is no excessive violence, blood or any very scary content. That’s pretty crappy.
Is that a thing? There are plenty of Chinese movies that are unsuitable for children, like Lust Caution for example which got a NC-17 certificate in the US.

In bold is what I said, so I'm not sure where the argument is. Yes, if the Chinese make it/distribute it/finance it, you bet your butt they're going to have a say in the content.

You cannot extrapolate that to mean studios will just start making content that only passes the censor in China. China is big, but they aren't the only market and studios would be foolish to release only content that pleases the censors of a single country. If they haven't done it yet, why would they do it going forward?

Movies are already censored in my opinion. Try to make a "Blazing Saddles" in 2018. LOL

HA! Why blind buy when so much is at your disposal. That's pissing money away. I don't collect movies or shows, I watch them. Besides, my last blind is in both my physical and digital library. Neither are going anywhere and are there when I want to watch them.

My bet is it’s already started. A lot of content has probably been changed already to cater for Chinese audiences. Are you saying they won’t have one eye on that market when developing blockbusters?

It’s only pissing money away if you don’t want to keep said movie. I have a excellent track record of picking the right films.

Actually, I watch foreign films and other "esoterica" all the time, including *gasp* Criterion films. Just finished The Tale of Zatoichi (Zatoichi 1) it looked and sounded great to me.

I know i'm pretty pro-digital in here (though I support both), VUDU has been pissing me off lately. My UHD titles have been pretty unplayable. I experienceing "tiling" very few moments when attempting to playback titles in UHD. I cancelled my Paddington 2 pre-order and will buy the disc.

You are the 3rd person I've heard this from. A couple of KS owners have complained about the same issues. I watched John Wick 2 when the first guy reported and didn't have any issues, but haven't had the chance to watch The Magnificent Seven yet. I'll let you know if I experience the same thing with the 2/1 app update once I do.

That's the benefit of renting or streaming for me. It helps me gauge if it is a buy or pass. As others have said, to each their own. Do what works for you as a consumer.

As for trends ITunes MP3 says hello! You remember them? The future Of music? Emmm, nope.

Digital HD is not doing well even with Movies Anywhere imo. Subscription? Yes, sure but that’s not collecting movies anymore now, is it?

3D is a fantastic format but I wouldn’t expect Digital fans to appreciate that.
Only one of those points is even half-correct and I've addressed them all at least once. The post is quintessential Steedeel: Wrong, paranoid, and rude. Bookmark it and come back to it in five years. I hope a different man reads it.

4K ITunes is a vast improvement with much higher bit rates but again it won’t (and doesn’t) compare to the equivalent disc.
iTunes compares quite favorably to disc, when I watch it.

It still falters in dark scenes, but that’s always been a trouble area for digital. It’s difficult to hide compression in the darkness, as we all seem to know. Someday, they’ll solve that problem, but even as it is now, it’s much better than it was years ago.

Audio with digital always remains behind the quality of physical, so that’s another faltering area that needs to improve. It isn’t a high priority of mine, though, so I never consider the audio quality a drawback.

Other than that, it holds up IMO. I just pointed out things that people could complain about with digital, but I don’t find these differences distracting. I’m still fully immersed in my experience.

That was me on the AVS forum as well .

I'm sure it will get resolved with an update but the VUDU app on those TV's has been messing up a lot lately.

I've spent the majority of my evening trying to rectify it.

Well in my experience, TVs suck as streaming devices anyways. You are better off buying a dedicated streaming device for streaming, such as a Nvidia Shield TV.
