I stopped by the local pawn shop here in town to check out the Blu-Rays they have there.
Out of the 500 or so I only found 1 that was on my list... Cloverfield.
But I also picked up

XXX
Priest
Master and Commander
Terminator 2 - Judgment Day

All in like new condition at 4.00 ea. with money-back guarantee.

GAWD, I'll have to watch the Blu-Ray of Cloverfield before I can compare to the regular DVD.

Close Encounters Of The Third Kind--anytime the UFO's appear, especially the ending.
Incubus-Live At Red Rocks, lots of kick drum bass as well as the bass guitar.
X-Men First Class.
Into The Blue--especially the Club scene.
These were the first to pop into my head.

Thanks darkpoet25, my list is growing.

Hopefully I will find a few more at the pawn shops, we only have 2, if not I have to order a couple new ones from time to time.

You're welcome buddy. Rated #1 by a lot of forum members on AVS for best LFE in a movie... Thinking of getting it for myself for that reason only.

Master & Commander is another good one BUT i think the BluRay ver they dummy downed the LFE on it. I believe the DVD version has better LFE.

Nah, I am correct. Doubled checked forum. BluRay rated 2.75 on LFE/UFL and DVD version is 4.

Default Psa xv15

Does anyone know if the dimensions on the XV15 on the website include the
attachment on the bottom? I am trying to make sure before the wife goes off on how big it is. I also am looking at the HSU VTF-3 MK4.

Yes, those dimensions include the attachment at the bottom. It's a beast of a sub.

Wow, I may have to use it as a side table, LOL. Is it better than the HSU? I am so sorry but I have been researching subs and narrowed it down to the HSU VTF-3 MK4 and the PSA XV15 and I usually watch 80/20 movies. I am also a newbie to the sub field. lol

I have owned a couple of the HSU subs for awhile. They are a great performing and quality sub, if I would of upgraded in the HSU line it would have been to the VTF-3 MK4, but for my needs I am now up-grading to the XS30.

It should be shipping in a couple of days.

For the deep bass in movies the XV-15 should be great, you may want the VTF-15H in the HSU line.

I was looking at the VTF-15H but it was out of my budget. I was trying to keep it under $800 and that is why I narrowed the two. I was reading on a couple if forums that the MK4 was mostly for music? Is that true? I was going to pre order the X30 but now the price is no longer at the pre-order price. It looks like an amazing sub too.

That site looks cheezy! I could care less about graphs, its what happens in the real world that concerns me, what you hear is what matters. The review on this site gives the BD a 5 rating and called it reference sound quality.

https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Maste...d-Blu-ray/201/

I also own the BD and can attest it has an awesome audio quality with huge LFE.

Crazykat,

I am really enjoying my XS30. My only problem is that I do not have a dedicated theater, and two small children...so it is difficult to get the wife and kids out of the house sometimes to enjoy it. I have been using it for music more than anything, streaming Pandora. I bought Ironman 1, 2, Thor, Captain America, war of the Worlds, Finding Nemo, and a few other for $10 on sale at Amazon. War of the worlds was an intense feeling, of which I am not sure how to describe... On top of that, I think I just realized my listening position is in a null...so may try and do the sub crawl or go with a nearfield placement. Overall, couldn't be more pleased with the sub. I am still happy I went with the upgrade from the XV-15 to the XS-30. One thing I have noticed...I now look for LFE (in movies) or bass in music where there is none and get disappointed. I think my previous sub played so much distortion I really didn't know what good clean bass sounded like!

The VTF-3 MK4 is a variable tuning sub so with adjusting you can tune it for music or movies, but the best thing for you is to contact Tom at PSA, after he asks you for your room size and layout, your personal needs and maybe a couple more questions he'll give recommendations on a PSA sub.

Great to hear you're enjoying your XS30, I getting excited about getting mine.

Definitely doing a crawl and checking with SPL meter is a must.

Actually his customer service is amazing. He recommended the XV15 and I decided to get it based on his recommendations and the personal reviews from the forums. I cannot wait to get it and hopefully the wife will like it as well. LOL Thanks for the help CRAZYCAT.
