Right because the continual success Michael Bay's Transformers and the Star Trek Prequels showed that fanboys will stand their ground when you tick them off.

And the people saying they were going to boycott because Johnny is black sounded racist. Doesn't mean they are, but let's not ignore how people have been acting.

it's not racist to say you don't want a characters origins changed so drastically.

the only thing that interests me about this movie is how/if they explain why Johnny and Sue are different races when they are brother & sister.

people have problems w/the new ninja turtle movie and people have problems w/the transformers movies......and it mainly has to do w/how things were changed......why is it so different w/this???

I wasn't a fan of either of those series until the 1st ones came out......so I really can't comment on this.

Nothing about their origins is changed drastically. Race has nothing to do with the "origins" part.

Like I mentioned about Shredder in the upcoming Turtles reboot, his entire background is Japanese, but he is played by a white guy, that is messing with origins. Johnny Storm.... Not at all, the only problem is him and Sue not being the same race..... Now if they say that one of them is adopted, then that's messing with the origins. I mean in could come out that they have the same Mom, and that Jordan is mixed. I know plenty of mulattos that are that dark.

Maybe Kate Mara can play the part in blackface and then people would can shut the he'll up about problems with race.
Who cares ?
Get over it.
Be more worried about miles teller who looks like he's about 18 years old as the head of an astronaut mission in space. .

I loved the first FF movies. Except for costume. I really hated them on the actors.

Seeing the actors now, I'm more excited than ever. I do hope they have better uniforms.

Does anyone know if they're going the Dr. Doom route from the outset or will they take a different approach altogether than the first movies?

If they're going with the Ultimate FF origin, there won't be a space mission in the movie and Reed Richards won't be a confident leader. He'll be a shy dork.

the last 2 FF movies did pretty badly......what makes him think people are going to flock to see this one?? esp. when he comes off as being such an ass.
Collectively both movies pulled in about 620K worldwide. I don't think that number qualifies as doing badly.

As long as it is at least 120 minutes long, I'm sure it will be amazing. Doesn't matter who they cast.

It isn't. I was firmly in the meh camp until his smarmy little answer ensured my dollars stay in my wallet. Way to Jim Carrey the movie.

Wow. So overhyped and sorta douchey. What a great combination hehe.

Maybe it'll be the best movie ever. Who knows?

the 1st movie had a budget o $100 million and pulled in $154 million domestically.

the 2nd movie had a budge of $130 million and pulled in $131 million domestically.

so yeah, they didn't do so hot in the theater.

Well out of the cast so far, Michael B Jordan & Jaime Bell can act, they just don't have a good track record with movies.

The biggest problem I have with the cast is Miles Teller, he's absolutely awful and beyond overrated.

My theory on the casting is that Fox is so pissed they lost the perfect Johnny Storm (Chris Evans) to Marvel Studios that they decided to do something different with the character whilst simultaneously keeping the property away from Marvel. Anyone know how the contracts are written up? How long do they still own the characters, and how long they have to go into production before they lose it?

What math are you using? I stated the take "WORLDWIDE" was 619K, this means domestic and international? A movie has to generate a BILLION dollars to be successfull, c'mon stop it! FYI go visit The Numbers.com and you'll see home video sales of both movies total another 76M. That's almost 700M or put another way $700,000,000.00

There's no way Chris Evans would fit in with the rest of the cast.
