What are you willing to bet? 10 bucks, I'm guessing.

Yes, but it's only the theatrical cut, which is about as useful as a chocolate oven-glove, IMO.

Between this and Studios abandoning BD Live, I get the feeling that they're really trying to phase out special features.

$34 does not warrant the price for Amazing Spiderman being that the film is 38,671,607,808 bytes on the regular blu ray does not leave much room for improvement, unless its a new, new transfer & encoded with a newer improved MPEG-4 AVC. Really, really weird since the first blu ray version came out 6 months ago

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad we got two very nice remasters out of this line, (no idea about Glory), but the rest seem kind of random and also pointless, given the relative freshness of some of them. Maybe they sold well, in their previous guises, but I wish they'd tackled more films that do have problematic releases.

I'd like to see Leon aka The Professional redone, without the tinkering that Besson did to the color/contrast, etc.

why would Sony undo what Besson did? in fact it's the only Sony bluray that features advanced 96kHz audio.

I really don't care about the audio, it's the PQ that needs fixed. At least the US version has seamless branching, you should see the UK disc, two encodings crammed onto the one disc, plus all the shit that Besson did to it.

Nasty.

Thanks, I did not know that. Saves me $$$ at least since I am not going to buy it now.

To be fair, the four ones named as the most expensive are also the four people seem least interested in purchasing. The interest is basically in Ghostbusters, Spider-Man, and a few curious about Glory.

Anyway, I think the argument is stupid. It's true: if you don't want new discs, don't pay for new discs. Who's to say that Sony won't be forward thinking about 4K now that they've started this on every catalog title they do from now on? Studios will always get titles wrong. Doesn't excuse them, but it's not a problem that can really be solved, because technology is always advancing and there are a million factors that go into why a studio treats Title A one way and Title B another way. All I care about is the availability of excellent presentations of movies on Blu-Ray disc, whether it's the first time or the ninth time.

4K Mastered and released on May 14.

Amazon.ca often lists titles under multiple search names and prices. You have to check carefully. That is the 4K release.
Again, look at the cast members -- Spider-Man is not the same movie as The Amazing Spider-Man!

Apologies for getting my Spidermans mixed up.

I'm wasn't aware there was two of them (not a Spiderman fan).

The blown-out contrast on The Professional is as problematic as the original Ghostbusters disc. Looks crummy in general, really. The 35mm print I compared the bluray to looked much nicer and wasn't anywhere as blown out.

I would love a corrected Blu-Ray of Léon. Bought it, sold it, re-bought it, and sold it again because it was worse than I remembered. Gary Oldman's glowing shirt...ugh.
