It's a damn shame about the jaggies, but there's something about Warner's remastering that bothers me here (e.g. *contrast boosting and **over-saturated colours) the same way it did with Enter the Dragon.

I honestly think it looks better than the US version. Sharper and color seem more accurate

...Yet not owning Bloodsport on blu-ray feels so wrong on so many levels! So I might eventually end up buying the German disc, just to own the movie on blu-ray lol. If a better transfer ever comes out, I will buy it day 1. After all it's not only my favorite Van Damme movie, but it's also his best imo.

Caved and ordered the German blu of Legionnaire. Looking forward to watching it in HD. Not a JCVD movie, but I ordered The Debt Collector, with Scott Adkins, as well since the US is only getting a DVD release.

I am looking to pick up Bloodsport and Kickboxer. Is the consensus still that the German blu rays are best for both of these titles?

The German (and I think UK) Blu-rays are the same master but without the DNR.

A bit like the T2 (2015) situation.

Rented Black Water last night. It was ok. Thought the movie itself looked pretty good and I actually really liked the way it was lit. Made the low budget look a bit bigger. Action was decent too. Don’t know what they were thinking though casting the two actresses. Not convincing at all. Honestly, the movie could have pretty much played out the same way without them. I would have rather seen JC sneaking around by himself, Sudden Death style, taking out bad guys instead of listening to the back and forth with the awful 20 year old sidekick. Dolph was fun and his scenes with JC are definitely the highlight, even though he is pretty much a cameo. Overall, I mostly enjoyed it. Probably a 3/5. Would have been a little higher of a rating if the female leads were cast better or just simply not in it. Still, this was much better than some of his other stinkers like PoF,Kill em All, and Swelter.

Yep, they were terrible. Take them out of this and it would be one of his better dtv era films.

People complain that Black Water is too long. Take the girls out and get rid of that twist at the end, and you end up with a movie that would be around 85-90 minutes long. Maybe these people would like that movie better?!
