No you can't. Doing so would give an approximation of the black and chrome version, but the real deal will always be better. More was done to the picture than just taking out all the color.

Levels on the new release have been completely recalibrated for B&W. Muting the color on your set will not produce the same results, but may give you a decent approximation.

The Black and Chrome version has tweaked contrast, and less artifacting than the color version with 0% saturation. I made a video comparing it, if it helps. Ignore the crappy quality for the B&C clips, it will look better than the footage I had.

Yep, spot on. Reducing the colour of the regular version still looks good but exposes a lot of compression artefacts that are otherwise hidden in the chroma at normal saturation.

Mad Max: Fury Road - Color vs. Black and Chrome Comparison - YouTube
Cool. Thanks for the video. I don't think the black & chrome version really does anything for me. This is definitely a film that needs to be seen in full color & 3D to get the full effect.

It still looks like good set and I love the movies and don't own any of them yet so I'll definitely buy. But I don't see why they couldn't of squeezed the Madness of Max and Road War documentaries onto one disc so the eighth disc could've been the 3D edition of Fury Road.

WB is just lazy. They don't want to make too many new discs, so instead of putting Madness of Max on the same disc as the Road Warrior documentary (or, even better, putting the Road Warrior documentary on the Road Warrior disc, which already has plenty of free space on it), they just have the Madness of Max DVD which already existed prior to the boxset (they didn't even print a new label), and put the Road Warrior documentary on its own disc so they wouldn't have to make a new Road Warrior disc.

Any chance of some screenshots? Everyone's saying it's been drastically regraded but I've not seen any evidence.

Thanks for that! I've been milling back and forth on whether or not to pick up the B&C edition as soon as it hits shelves, or to wait for a price drop. I mean, I'm all about some Fury Road so give me EVERYTHING! I knew I'd have it at some point, but this helped me decide to wait til it goes on sale. It looks cool as hell though, especially that close up of Joe before the storm and the zoom in on Doof. Kinda looks like an old school horror picture. Til that sale though, I'll keep watching my UHD.

I'll be getting the Blu-ray at some point ( I already have the Digital HD version from VUDU), so it's not a priority, and I also don't want to spend $25 for it on release day.

Well, I sold all my Mad Max Blu-rays so I'm in for the High Octane collection or bust! I've got the UHD of Fury Road though so I'll pick up the German set as that doesn't include the UHD. Dunno if I'll order it now though, might wait for a sale.

I'm trying to sell my Fury Road 2D/3D so I can justify buying this and no one's biting even at $10

It's been out on disc for over a year is why. I have been selling movies on eBay for nearly a decade and you will be lucky to get more than $5-8 for a BD unless it's brand new in the shrinkwrap or a limited edition.
