Default SD issues

I have the E400 and while 99.9999% of the time, I don't even put it on a SD channel, sometimes there's something I only get in SD. Problem is, the receiver is stretching everything and "filling the screen" instead of leaving it the way it should be, and I hate it more than SD itself. I changed some settings, no go.

I went through my Motorola 6412 receiver, changed a couple things, and nothing still. Am I missing a setting to force it to leave shit the way its supposed to be, or is it just something the receiver does?

My Cable Box is where the stretching is done, or not.

the problem is... all the HD channels display the way they're supposed to... so I have to be missing something on there then...

Edit: Fixed... since I never ever watch SD channels, I never changed the TVs settings on how to deal with SD Channels., I changed it to 4:3 and "size 1" and low and behold, its doing what its supposed to... I go back to HD, and its treating those channels the way it should.

Default HDMI Passthrough Problem

Greetings - sorry if this has been covered in a previous post...

I have the 590 connected to my BD and HTPC components which go through the 590, but I'm having issues with my HTPC being recognized by my Samsung PN58C550 when the 590 is off. When I turn the television on, I am sometimes given a NO SIGNAL. Yet I have set up the HDMI Passthrough to HDMI3 (the location of my HTPC). The signal does come through when I turn the 590 on and select the SAT/CBL button, but sometimes the video will convert to 720 instead of staying at 1080. In that case, I have to minimize my Windows Media Center and then maximize it for the video issue to clear up.

I know this must be an error on my part, as there's a setting somewhere I've missed. I also took the advice of many sites to turn off the CEC on the television. If I do that, then I get no audio when I turn the 590 on. Sometimes if I turn the 590 on to get the HTPC to recognize and then shut off the 590, my screen and audio return and I can now use the HTPC.

I've really mucked this portion up pretty good!

Thanks for your help in advance.

Matt

How good are DENON's? It is 50$ less than the Onkyo receiver and speaker set up I am thinking of purchasing. It is this product, any good over an Onkyo HTS5600 7.1 surround?

I'm hoping someone can help me out. Over the weekend the left and right speakers on my Denon 1910 stopped working. They will not play sound or the test tone. The center channel and surrounds work and I swapped the wires with the center channel and surround speakers and it definitely is isolated to the left and right channels. I reset the receiver and that did not help. Is there anything else I can try? If I need to get is serviced, is going though Denon the best option? Thanks in advance!

Received mine today, and looks to be in mint condition. Not fully connected, just powered on to ensure it works. No issues. The volume knob has a different feel than my Pioneer Elite, which will take getting use to.

A very sleak looking unit, and very simple face. I would have liked the face plate like the x4000 to cover the front av connections, but by no means is this a detraction.

So far so good!
