All the Anime has another copy of the UE for sale. I thought about it ,but I’d rather use it towards a bunny.

Edit: it’s gone.

CE has more secure packaging for a lower price anyways.

Correct me if I’m wrong but do none of the Eva bluray releases (UE, CE, etc) include the original broadcast episodes of 21-24?

Correct. Even the JP set only includes the director's cuts of those episodes if I'm remembering correctly.

Another reason to hang onto the DVDs even after getting the Blu-ray, the Platinum DVDs have both the OA and DC versions of those episodes.

The JP set contains both video-format (aka Director's Cut) and OnAir (aka broadcast) versions for episodes 21-24.

Are you sure? I thought Archives of Evangelion (Red DVD Box) was the set that had the broadcast episodes, and that the Blu Ray Box (Blue) had the directors cut episodes...

Yep, I have the JP set with me. The red dvd box doesn't contain "just" the broadcast version, but the "very first" onair version (for all the episodes), the one with the sponsor cards after each opening/ending and episodes' titles with added furigana and, as far as I know, that version was never released until the release of the archives box.

I've got the "big" platinum DVD version that I assembled disc by disc some years ago, but never had the Death/Rebirth or End of Evangelion movies. Is there a chance those will get a separate re-release so I can just stick with my current DVD set?

The set is $36.26 on Amazon right now, worth it enough to just get the movies. You can ignore the other discs in the set if you must. There's not much point in a separate release at this time.

I'm sure there will be plenty of the movie discs available for very cheap once the replacement program for that disc start shipping out. Only issue is no subtitles for the live action deleted scene, which is up online for free anyway.

The "very first" (to use your term) broadcast versions of Episodes 21-24 were also previously given a limited release on VHS and LD as mail-in premiums (recipients had to send in proofs of purchase for all 14 volumes of the TV series), as well as the second of three "Second Impact Box" DVD releases from 2001. Episodes 1-20 and 25-26 only had the "video format" and later "Renewal" versions put out on Japanese home video before the 2015 "Archives" DVD box, though.

As for the "on air" versions of 21-24 on the Japanese BD sets, they're just like the previous 2003 "Renewal" DVDs in that they use the same tweaked footage used on their presentations of the "director's cuts" of 21'-24' but then trim back the added bits in order to reflect the scenes used in the original broadcast version. As such, it uses the video footage of the new version but retains the basic content of the old version.

Old news by now I'm sure, but just checked my disc from the UK Ultimate Edition and that live action deleted scene from End of Eva is missing the subs, like the others.

Also, unrelated, and y'all're gonna think I'm silly for this, but I only just realised Asuka's bandages in the beach scene are from the battle against the mass produced Eva's from where Unit 2 was injured '^o^
Guess that just never clicked with me before haha

I also got a confirmation on a replacement disc for my NA UE. I'd speculate they are likely already assembled, or the replacement discs wouldnt be ready in time without delaying the UE again.

Either way submit those forms. I'll have two faulty movie discs to sell off for people that just want to replace their garbage Manga dvds , so I'm looking at this as an opportunity to mitigate the price of the UE, even if only by a little.

Yeah I never got that, nor the eyepatch version in the reboots. Also never really understood how her eye got damaged in the first place. You feel the pain when the EVA is damaged but don't also receive the damage, that was made clear in the beginning, otherwise Shinji's arm and head would have been ripped off.

In relation to EoE at least, I'd say it's likely they're a product of her high sync ratio and aren't actually happening to her, she just feels and sees them like you said (Which might actually explain why despite having a bandage on her arm, it seems relatively not cut in half) As for the parts they don't visualize, it might have to do with censorship, I know Japanese censors are harsh on things like human disembowelment, fantasy creatures and such are fine, but humans specifically seem to be a no go most of the time)
