I think Sammy Watkins could hold his own, especially in pads. He was clocked at a 4.2 this off season. I know there is no way that's true but it had to be close because more than one clocked him. I don't think he loses much in pads.

There are many that could beat De'Anthony Thomas in a straight-line sprint along the length of a football field -- Sammy Watkins, Marvin Bracy, Damiere Byrd, Ronald Darby, Skye Dawson, Miles Shuler, Devon Smith, George Farmer, Marquise Goodwin, DeAndrew White, Bradley Slyve, Kyle Middlebrooks, DJ Monroe, Derrick Hopkins, George Atkinson III, and Markus Wheaton to name a few.

In fact, Wheaton, Farmer, and Atkinson III have all beaten him head to head on the track. However, when you add shiftiness, quickness, and acceleration, there's no one better IMO (and, in the opinion of SI's Lee Jenkins).

It is amazing that a coach, who didn't raise his voice, threaten, verbally assault a reporter, scream, and/or curse, is being treated like he did all of those things. Based upon public perception, is it possible that the sports media see Lane Kiffin as an easy target?

There was maybe one way for him to handle this situation better and 1000 ways for him to handle it worse -- like the following...

Absolutely. The last thing you want to do is let them know they got to you. Maybe if he wins some championships he can get away with it like Belichick. But until then, he just comes across as childish.

I see the two here that have the biggest axes to grind with Kiffin (the Vol and the bRuin) have decided to chime in. How transparent.

Or Urban Meyer. Meyer pulled that sort of thing at UF. But given the Gators with Tebow were a powerhouse with two national title he had the capital to say whatever he wanted. Meyer even kicked out a reporter for writing a negative story once.

Oh I agree. But it's not the case at all. It's this way in all walks of life. Just look at our justice system. There's a system for the wealthy and powerful and a separate one for the common people. Sell drugs and you can get a decade or more in prison. Scam investors out of billions and you pay a fine or get a year in a minimum security jail.
