(One thing to note: If/when they do, they likely won't be able to sell the slips separately as they do for their own catalogue titles - people had to buy The Wild Boys to get the new slip. It's because of some legal reason re: distribution I think.)
It's not legal reasons, it's money risk. They have to pay wholesale price for the discs on the pre-partnership releases. VS doesn't have to pay wholesale price for discs on releases they distribute themselves, only replication/production cost.

So if they make 1,000 new slips for some old AGFA release, they have to plan on having discs available for most of those. They risk selling a ton of slip-only units and they're stuck with a bunch of non-slip stock they paid wholesale for and will take forever to get rid of.

This is also why pre-partner releases will never be included in 50% off sales. When they sell to us at 50% off during the sales, they're basically giving us near-wholesale cost, what they sell to other middle-man distributors like DiabolikDVD. But they can't do that for stuff they've paid wholesale for themselves, they'd make no profit.

It's also why we'll usually see smaller runs on partner legacy slips. They have to buy the discs from the distributor. It's more expensive, and the distributors may not have 3,000 or so units available to give VS. A few hundred to 1,000 is more likely.

I have no inside information though, mostly just taking out of my butt on how it makes sense to me. Could be completely wrong.

It looks to me like AGFA's old distributor, MVD, isn't pressing any more copies of their titles once they sell through current stock - LSF and WW no longer appear on MVD's shop at all, not even as an out of stock product page. Seems like either A) MVD fully dropped the AGFA line due to poor sales and OCN picked them up or B) OCN snagged AGFA due to their VS relationship and MVD decided to stop producing product tied to a competitor. Hopefully I'm wrong, but after the same thing happened to Satanis, there is a pattern developing.

I'm sure VS/OCN/AGFA will sort out the rights to what they can and reprint stuff, but I could see things like Godmonster not getting a new edition, so might be time to grab anything you haven't.

All I can hope is that the titles come back in some form. I like to have complete lines when possible and the past couple titles have disappeared so quickly it makes it a waiting game on the secondary market

The catalog page on the AGFA website is listed chronologically from newest to oldest.

THE MCPHERSON TAPE was the first OCN/Vinegar Syndrome distributed release.

So everything after that is MVD distributed (unless they used some other distributor prior to MVD).

Page 1 is all OCN distributed. Page 2 is some of both. Page 3 is all pre-OCN.

Was some title announced and then cancelled? Vinegar Syndrome assigns catalog numbers to everything it releases, and The McPherson Tape is "AGFA-018" (and everything since then has increased in number, there's never been anything from VS below 18). There are only 16 pre-VS AGFA titles, however (including their 3 DVD-only releases).

The first post has quite a few planned titles that haven't come out...seems that they were at least soft announced.

That seems to be an announcement of general planned releases, not specific solicited titles with release dates. Some of those weren't released until very recently through VS, so the remaining ones could be released in the future.

Though I think I found my answer - Fleshpot on 42nd Street. That one had cover art and everything and then was cancelled. It would have been AGFA-011. Fleshpot was released as a VS mainline title, and both Fleshpot and the companion film Guru, The Mad Monk appeared in the Severin Milligan set.

Considering AGFA supplied the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema with their print of The Astrologer, is there any hope of bringing it to Blu-ray?

I think music rights are the issue, not availability of a print.

So I found this on Twitter today in reply to a question :

Aside from SATANIS (the only one that will never be repressed), we're looking into reissuing older OOP titles. But we won't have confirmation or a timeline for any reissues until 2022. Basically, don't sleep on titles that you want!

So this sounds like good news for the titles currently running out. Hoping AGFA can make it happen.

Yeah, it's music rights. The print is Drafthouse's/AGFA's (I believe).

The trailer compilation should be fun. I just watched their Horror Trailer disc and really had a good time. I hope they do a follow up to it. Had a great vibe, visual style, rhythm.
