Hey Sean,my Friend.
I have the Multi-Disc,Slip Cover~Fold-Out Deluxe Directors Cut Edition. And it is amazing for a Standard DVD.

I know for the Blu they only gave the Pic Quality a 3(Which they also did with LOTR(FOTR).
And they did say it was a definite Improvement on the DVD Version.

They Also Said the Audio Quality Was Outstanding.
And I just Love the Movie from Start to Finish. So,I dont think I will be Disappointed.

May have wished for the Pic Quality to be better. But its also a 17 Year Old Release Now.So,I imagine that may have a little to do with Pic Quality(if the source isn't pristine).

Plus,Inbetween Tombstone and Last Of The Mohicans; I have been waiting forever.
So just about anything would make me happy.

I will be watching it today.
In fact ,before Noon I would like to have it on.

Planned to yesterday, but needed to spend the afternoon being available. As I had some business to get taken care of.

I am planning on going to the Storage Building/Workshop today.I want to see if I can get to any of the boxes with my Diecast.
If so,I will have JR,on his way this coming week.

Thanks,cB.Didn't even notice that we had passed 7000.
Thanks for the congratulatory post.

I am going to jump in the shower shortly, then go out and see what boxes I can get to(Hopefully without having to move a hundred different things out of the way).

In fact I need to do it before the shower. In case I do start sweating. As its almost 80 degrees already, this morning.
Calling for 92 degrees for our high.

Hey Todd,

Hope your day is going well. Planning to watch Avatar? It is a 5-star AQ and PQ disc. Fun movie.

Have you watched the Tombstone BD yet. I am interested in it as well. Got the Vista 2-disc DVD set, the same you have I believe. It is good, but I know BD will be better. Curious how much better.

Hey croseiv,my Friend.
I hope you have had a nice weekend,so far.

And I have loved the two new SACD's.
I am listening to the TelArc "Great Film Fantasies" as I type. That has tracks from the Soundtracks of Star Wars(all 6 films)Also tracks from the Three LOTR Movies, and 3 Tracks from the earlier Harry Potter Films.

Excellent Sound Quality and use of the Surrounds. And I can just never get tired of listening to the Star Wars Soundtracks.

And I have also enjoyed John Legend immensely. It is ,most likely the Finest Sounding Music that has been played on my Current System.

I have had the standard CD version. And the Hybrid sounds so much more alive(with a wider frequency range and dynamic range)Its just outstanding(if you like John Legend and his smooth style of R&B).

It makes me ready to add some more titles to the collection.

How about,you,my Friend.
Have you enjoyed your time with the two SACD's you received ?
As I loved what I heard on the sample tracks of the Spyro Gyra Disc.Just outstanding.

Wonder if the have any Alan Parsons Project on SACD ?

Hey Travis,my Friend.
I hope your evening is going well.

My Nephew is coming over. So,no guarantee on what we will watch. As I will let him choose what he wants to see(which is fine)Since I havent opened or seen 2/3rds of my small collection.

But the last two times he has been over I was sick(so no movie)and I couldn't finish wiring the system up,as my back went out(so no movie).

He hasn't heard it with the additional subs,Paradigm Center, and Rotel Amp.(Or the new futon, which is in chaise lounge mode right now)So,it should be a nice difference for him.And I have added several movies,as well.

I hope Avatar, since I haven't seen it yet.And he watched Tombstone with me,a couple of years ago,on the same Standard DVD set you have.

He Loved it,and Loves Westerns. So he may choose that(Which will be fine with me).I Love Tombstone so much. And haven't seen it on a Home Theater in years. When I see it on Blu I will probably smile from start to finish.

So,any further thoughts on your future with SACD and Denon ?

As far as SACDs go, I 'm pretty sure they are here to stay. Will keep my eye on amazon for great deals. Next player will be BD/DVD/SACD/CD compatible.

I was looking at a Denon player 6 months ago, a member here turned me onto them 3800?? I think. I like Denon and the fact that they are Marantz's sister is good. Will work well together and is a bit cheaper than Marantz.

Right now, I am just waiting for reviews to come out on the new players and waiting to see what else arrives. I really want a wi-fi capable player too, the one thing the PS3 has that I really like. Won't miss the fan noise. Hopefully, the Denon will have wi-fi, or at least an attachment. I am patient and can wait till the right player comes out, unless PS3 dies.

Still trying to make up mind on leather or fabric for La-Z Boy. Will head back to Taipei in 2 weeks, or may just call store this week and transfer cash. leaning towards fabric today.

After that next purchase will be........probably a 1080p projector, the weakest point in my system. I am still 80% movies and 20% music so upgrading fronts to 683s or getting a CD player will have to wait. After PJ next should be...........a bigger center. Looking at B&W CM Center 2, not crazy about mixing up speakers. May just go for HTM61. But I really like the design with a tweeter and midrange driver in the middle. (Just like your Paradigm)More centers should have that design. Having the tweeter on a different plane than the the other drivers is supposed to help with more accurate sound dispersion.

How do you find having a center and fronts that are different? When sound is moving across the front is it smooth?

Or after a new PJ, spend more on furniture may be the smartest thing to do. And walls and ceilings. Everything here is concrete. Very bad. Would like to put wood, or something over it. Never seen any gyprock (drywall) anywhere in this country. Wondering what would be the best for covering the walls.

Sorry for long post. I'm done.

Hey Travis,my Friend.
Sorry for the delay.

Just finished watching Avatar.

I have to say,I Love It.
It reminded me of why I got back into HT,to start with.
It also showed all the systems strengths and weaknesses.

But its a True HT Seller.Every Audio Store will use it to sell HT Systems.

I dont think I have played a movie that was just that amazing.
I felt as if I had been transported to Pandora.

I think turning to a 1080p projector and 1.85:1 or 2.35:1 screen would be the best move for your system, by far.(Or using your current screen and black masking material)

And with prices 1080p are available for $1000.00 and even lower.
It will put the fire back into watching your HT.Because I had been getting stale with the 37 inch LCD (even with the Audio upgrades).

But the first movie with the projector and that 80+ inch Picture on that White $4.00 Wal Mart Sheet.Set the fire back ablaze. As Bright,or even Brighter then the original fire, when the HT Journey began Anew.
I can Almost Guarantee it will do the Same for You.

Hey Todd - glad you enjoyed the Awesomeness that is AVATAR. Were you able to Crank it up some, or at a decent Volume anyway? Lol, I still can't believe I watched it at Reference Level volume (-14 dbs' ), but it was Freakin' Amazing to hear the POLKS & 2 PA-120's ("Dualies") really breathe & perform as I Knew they would.

Hey Steve,my Friend.

Yes Sir,Had it turned up a few nothes above the norm. And it was worth it.The system handled the Volume with outstanding Clarity and Detail. And though,I Only have Two PSW10's connected right now.The Bass they produced, made me Very Proud of them.

I am going to try and get the other two connected soon.Sounds like the rather inexpensive splitters I bought for use at the back of both Sub Outs(at the AVR Jacks)are helping cause the hum.

As I removed them and the hum is gone. And in another configuration that caused the hum previously, once I removed them,it disappeared. So I will make 100% sure, before buying replacements.
But I am going to try to play around with it tomorrow.

I have to say Avatar is Incredible.I am still just so stunned at its Settings and Video Quality,it amazes me.
But I will watch it again, before too long.

I imagine with your dual PA-120's it must have sucked the air out of the room.

Hey Todd - about to Press PLAY on "Patriot Games". Glad you enjoyed AVATAR buddy. My Dual PA-120's def. enjoyed "stretching their Lungs"out a bit, if you will though it was mainly the Entire Speaker system that really Shined for this movie. Now, "ARMAGEDDON" on the other hand, Really felt the force from the "Dualies" as it had a Much more powerful Audio track LFE-wise. (And if I read correctly, you have Never seen that movie either?! ) - Well, maybe I might just have to send you my copy to "rent" for free, for a couple weeks. Maybe you can invite your nephew over to watch with you.

Later guys, I hear Jack Ryan calling my name...
