Yeah. The disc storage made the whole set seen cheap. Huge letdown.

That's the problem with pre-ordering Blu-ray sets with non-standard packaging in that you won't know in advance how fit for purpose it is at actually protecting the discs it contains. At first I had a FOMO when it came to bypassing the $300 UE / $175 LE sets and only targeting the $40 5-disc standard edition, but it seems ever more prescient as time goes on.

On a side note I did a full BDInfo scan on the fixed Disc 5 and compared it to the original Disc 5, everything came out identical except for the disc size (Original: 47,987,488,768 / Fixed: 47,988,275,200) and inclusion of an English subtitle track on playlist "00005.MPLS".

Just watching episode 22 ‘don’t be’ classic dub and noticing even with the ‘songs and signs’ on for subtitles, the text flashing during asuka/angel scene is not subbed at bottom. Anyone else notice this?

Will the ultimate edition be affected aswell? I'm sure others are still waiting for it. How would I go about getting the replacement; if don't have the Proof Of Purchase yet...

Was just about to place an order on Amazon for the GKids set (I prefer the cover design over AtA) but thankfully I have read this thread. No idea how I would gotten my hands on the replacement disc, if I had placed an order. *sigh*

And I see we're still waiting for AtA to respond as well. I will have to do a replacement for my UK limited copy I got from Zavvi.

Not sure. I would think they would be able to replace it with the correct disc since it hasn't shipped yet but I guess we won't know unless they say something and or people check it when they get their copies in.

I just requested one for my standard release BD. Got the one in for me LE though.

I examined the label when I received mine to look for any difference and I found that in the long series of numbers at the very bottom that starts with SF, there is an additional "R1" at the end that isn't on the original/flawed disc. It's visible in some of the pictures people have posted in the Hauls thread.

Here's a pic of the replacement for disc 5 I just got in the other day. The disc code towards the bottom starts with "SF" and the revised disc will have "R1" at the end as shown. It was shipped in a disc sized envelope with an inner disc sleeve and it got here super fast, like maybe 2 days at the time.

Disc 05 only has the Netflix dub (as well as the Japanese audio, obviously). I'm also pretty sure that the UE/CE exclusive ADV dub discs (i.e. Discs 07-11) don't have any bonus features to begin with, and those were the problem leading to the disc replacement program.
