Watched the LEGO Movie 3D
![]() If you need proof that today's Blu-ray 3D movies can provide the same 50's Golden Era 3-D strength experience, and that the 3D depth is already on the disc, but only parameters need to be expanded to see it in native-3D, then this movie will be the one to leave no doubt in your mind. Today, you will need a display with LG's 3D Depth" unique feature, using the settings similar to the OLED settings posted below. LG EG9600 OLED TV Calibration Settings: Picture Mode: Expert 1 Aspect Ratio: Just Scan Super Resolution: High 3D Alignment: 3D Depth: @ 20 3D Viewpoint: @ (−5) NOTE: Currently No other manufacturer besides LG, provides this unique "3D Depth" feature. To avoid confusion, Other display brands name their "3D Convergence" feature as "3D Depth". That is what LG names "3D Viewpoint" |

Ordered Tarzan 3D during Amazon BF sale the other day along with Polar Express 3D.
The box got delivered yesterday in the pouring rain, to my knowledge no one rang the bell. I looked outside just by chance and practically had a heart attack...the shipment was early. I had done free shipping with the order, so it should have taken the better part of a week. I snatched up the soggy box and tilted it down, water was pouring out of the lower corner. Grabbed a scissors and cut the box open, by some miracle the movies were OK. Tarzan was on the bottom with a slipcover, which by all rights should have been ruined. Everything inside was fogged up due to the moisture, but after wiping it down, no damage. Last edited by Frank@Chicago; 11-29-2016 at 04:14 PM. |

The flat OLED SKU didn't have 3D (WTF?) and the curved one did (wish it was reversed). I would love to buy a large 3D OLED, but my wife would most likely murder me because I do already have a newer 3D TV. I understand (all too well) the OLED advantages but when I bought my set, OLEDs were 3X more than LED. LG's LED 8500 3D series has also improved over last year's, so that's a more affordable option for some. LEDs usually look great in the showroom, but black levels and white uniformity in darker home environments are thier Achilles Heel (but they have gotten better each year). Bought and watched Titanic 3D recently. Must say that it was even more spectacular, especially when that huge bottom rises up! Made me fall in love with the movie all over again.
I was hugely disappointed when I watched it in cinema when it was re-released in 3D, probably because the contrast was not good enough. Other than spaces between people during close-ups, there were hardly any depths when it came to the ship. Watching the 3D Blu-Ray on home projector now is a huge improvement. This 3D rendition seemed brighter than all other 3D Blu-Ray I had seen. I found I could do with a lower brightness setting. Did anyone else feel the same? |

I bought the LG 55EC9300 OLED last year. It has a curve. I thought the curve would bother me, but I don't even notice it. As far as I am aware it doesn't impact 3D viewing. Love my OLED. Never had any ghosting on any 3D blu.

Agree. The curve only accents the sets cosmetic appearance. It does not affect visual quality.

Interesting. On the LG EG9600 3D off-center is not a problem as long as the screen's eye-level is maintained. Two of my seats are positioned on each side of the room. When sitting in the center, anything above the screen's eye-level can produce ghosting.

We had the 9300 and sold it to buy the e6 and neither has any ghosting from center to off center. If you have a lot of ghosting it could be the way the 3d panel was applied to your panel but if only from severe off set then it may be the angles.
