i'd guess they're not eager to rehash the same mistakes they made w/ part 5

I heard a rumor today at work that a team up of slasher flick icons is in the works.

I haven't been keeping up with movie news lately but is this true?

Like the expendables of horror.

I actually like part 5. People only crap on it because Jason isn't in it. It's not like Halloween III where it doesn't follow the same continuity as the Michael Myers movies. Friday the 13th part 5 is still a continuation of the events of part 4.

Bruce Campbell wanted to do that, make a movie with Jamie Lee Curtis, Robert Englund, Tony Todd, himself and others, but nothing ever came of it.

Looks like there's a movie called Death House which beat Campbell to the punch, and stars Kane Hodder, Tony Todd, Sid Haig, Vernon Wells, Adrienne Barbeau, Dee Wallace and others. However, it looks like crap:

Probably a New Beginning for Tommy Jarvis, or for there being a different killer for each new movie since the real Jason was officially dead at the time but then they brought Jason back in part 6 as a zombie so it was a mute point.

I think A New Beginning could've been a good first act to Jason Lives. Copycat freaks Tommy out, he goes to dig up Jason to see if he's really there, lightning bolt. Then zombie Jason can kill copycat Jason.

After the events of Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter, Tommy Jarvis is sent to live in a house with other mentally unstable people. After Tommy arrived, one of the people that lives in the house was murdered by one of the patients. That same patient gets arrested and then the killing spree begins, while Tommy is still struggling to keep Jason out of his head. Many murders later, Tommy finally faces off with the killer who is dressed as Jason. After Tommy kills the Jason wannabe, we soon find out that the killer was actually the father of the person that was murdered by one of the patients earlier on in the movie. By the end of the movie, Tommy is in a hospital and starts seeing Jason again and goes crazy. But we all know he will eventually get semi better in Jason Lives: Friday the 13th Part VI and try to destroy zombie Jason.

Idk, looks cool to me. Love Kane too. I like him acting more so then masked men, and stunts. He's good for the Cool Tuff Guy type of Roles imo. They should of cast him in the new Predator movie.

I mean... that kind of describes the entire series. None of them are scary, and they're all horribly acted and written dreck designed to sell tickets cause "boobs and gore." The only one that I'd even slightly consider a cut above that is the 4th, and that's only because that films cast seemed to actually try.

That said the films are still a hell of a lot of fun for the most part. 5 is just as much fun to me as the others. Especially compared to crap like Jason X and Jason goes to Hell.

Thankfully no Friday the 13th film has been as bad as Halloween Ressurection though. Yuck.

But Jason would have to do a rendition of this song.

Out of the 1st 5 films, this is easily the worst. The only way I enjoy it, is if I tell myself its a parody of the series. Id like to think of it as kind of a scary movie version of the series. The kills in this movie are nothing like the scary kills in the 1st 4 films, the kills were goofy as hell.

I actually prefer part 5 to later entries as it feels more like an early 80's slasher. Part 6 very much feels like a movie that was embracing that mid/ late 80's shift to more comedy horror. I'm not a fan of comedy horror much so part 6 is definitely not one of my favourites. At least part 5 takes things seriously and has good atmosphere.

You just cannot beat that early 80's vibe. I'm aware of course that part 5 was released in 1985 but it still manages to have that slightly early 80's feel.

Part V did have pretty decent 80s music too.
