If you paid via paypal, you can track it on paypal, under that transaction's information, once it ships. If you paid via another method, there won't be tracking, however, David will be posting updates with the order numbers he is now serving, on the Facebook page, and that will let you know when your order has been shipped, so you can watch for it. He closes the store when he is shipping orders because he doesn't have a large staff to ship orders out as quickly as some vendors. Given current limitations, it would be impossible to keep up with the orders he already had and get new orders out in a timely manner. Don't worry about it though. If you got an order confirmation with an order number, he'll get it shipped out. You can check for updates here:

The slip is very nice. It doesn't justify any extra cost, but it is very nice.

It’s a decent release overall. The features that were ported over are informative enough (I never owned the DVD so not sure what I’m missing out on). The transfer is clean with nice pops of color in the more artistically lit scenes. It’s not the type of transfer to bowl you over but surely better than the film will ever look.

Everyone comments on the slip because that’s how this release was almost exclusively advertised. That said, it’s a thicker stock than other Code Red slips and the emboss is actually pretty neat. As far as glowing in the dark...sure, it does that too.

I commented on the slip because it's the first thing I encountered after unsealing the Blu-ray. The PQ check comes later - after I get home

You have to comment on the slip cause it's the most revolutionary collectible of all time. It changed the game, and you get a movie with it!

David announced that Bill is back in town and they will be doing a live feed, together, in person, because Bill is doing better, which is wonderful news.

On to the not so wonderful news, the store has been open for a while and, this time, nearly all bundles are still available. What's worse, the ebay sold prices have fallen to below MSRP. At this point, everyone who wants Dead Pit may actually have Dead Pit. While I always like to see big runs of 3000 blus, because I want as many people as possible to be able to purchase and see every film I think is cool, I'm definitely seeing the live-action play version of "why so many vendors do 1000 or 1500 and then move on to the next film". I'm also starting to understand why it took six or seven years to polish off that 1000 run of Berserker, even though I bought and gave away so many, plus the ones I kept. People are fine living without, that is to say, people who are nothing like me.

Put another way, RIP Dead Pit second pressing.

Now, Dark Force is bringing on Breeders and, yes, I am excited about another glow in the dark slipcover. I'd buy it without one, but I sure am glad it will have one.

Hopefully we'll get an update soon on what the interviewer is up to when it comes to gathering special features for Mirror Mirror, along with information on all the other Dark Force releases and Bill's upcoming Code Red plans. As to Dead Pit, I'm glad they've been able to successfully get it to that nearly sold out stage.

Only the expensive Platinum Pac is in stock for Dead Pit now. Glad I got in on the Dead Pit/Point Doom bundle.

Maybe don't force people to buy bundles and just list the title by itself? Even better, price it more in line with what it's actually worth (about $25) and leave the store open on days/at hours where people could actually know to go look to buy it.

I love the film and overall it's a great release and worth owning but the amount of games that were played have made it nearly possible to purchase. I only obtained my copy because someone else purchased 2 copies in order to help out fellow forum members. Beyond that, I have no idea how many copies are left but typically it takes far less than the full number of units pressed for most studios to turn a profit and I'd be willing to bet that the same thing applies here.

So we are supposed to feel bad about the hoops us collectors had to jump through just to get a single copy?

If he had just taken preorders in the beginning, limited it to one per person / address, then put up the remaining copies for sale, customers would've been more than satisfied.

I personally am thrilled that the online auctions have devalued and DF is now sitting on unsold copies of this movie.

It might cause the company to rethink a few things.

I'll get it if it goes on sale around $20. Not blind buying for $35 plus shipping, no matter how nice the slipcover is. The Arrow hard boxes go for less, with all the tat and booklets and stuff.

It's 100% not worth $35. The slip is very nice, but outside of the GITD(which who cares?) it's nothing we haven't seen countless times in a slipcover.

Not sure why it would be good news that a movie that is in it's print run is going for higher than MSRP due to artificial scarcity.

Most movies within a normal run are usually slightly below MSRP when watched once or even sealed and you are trying to recoup a loss. Going above MSRP during the initial print run is just price manipulation.

Feeling sad that there isn't demand for a second run is not equated with feeling bad about what individuals had to go through to buy from the first run, even though you are correct in the implication that there is overlap in the group of individuals who wanted it (failing to get it) and individuals who would be in that second-pressing-demand group (still wanting it). There is overlap. The issue of ongoing demand is different from the issue of what first-pressing purchasers may have had to go through to get it.

To clarify my previous misunderstood post, I feel a bit sad that there isn't enough demand for a second pressing. As to what people had to go through to get it, people are actually starving to death in this world, getting murdered and all sorts of other horrible things. I don't give a crap what someone with $35 to blow on a movie has to go through in order to spend that money and get the movie. So, you and I will have to amicably disagree on the issue of "the hoops" and how important or unimportant they are. For the record, I just can't waste my caring on something like people with money not being able to spend it as easily as they want to.

It is bad news when a film is no longer available for individual purchase, at MSRP, and the ebay auctions have fallen below the original MSRP, because it signifies that demand is just too low. That has nothing to do with "a movie that is in" its "print run" "going for higher than MSRP".

For the record, I have no interest in tracking higher auction prices for films that are in print, typically, but I did track overseas purchases from ebay, at higher prices, when it was still available from Dark Force, because they had to raise their overseas shipping quote. Many overseas buyers did opt for auctions instead of direct purchase. Some said it was because the store opened when they were sleeping. Some said it was shipping cost. In any event, they did pay what looked like higher prices, to anyone who didn't know how much the film would cost with overseas shipping. In reality, it worked out well for those buyers, because they spent the same or less on the film. Now, I'm sure that somewhere in there were at least a few American buyers with money to burn, but, I was only tracking the auctions for the international buyers who had complained.

Dead Pit is OOP. Its remaining copies are bundled, to facilitate sales of films like Zombie Nightmare, which is a good call, as it will help them sell those films and make more money which will lead to more film releases, even if it takes a couple of months to get them all sold. The individual units sold out and, then, because David felt sorry for people, he un-bundled already-bundled copies to sell individually with a limit of one copy per customer. I would not have done that but he was worried that people were not getting what they wanted and sacrificed some earnings to do that for those customers, because profits have been high enough to aid in doing more film restorations and because, as I've said before, he's a nice guy.

Again, I just think it is a little sad when an OOP film isn't even garnering MSRP on auctions. I really thought this one would be so popular and in demand it would necessitate a second pressing, partly because I really like this crazy film, partly because so many people I know ordered the blu. Then again, I think I got my Dead Pit DVD for $3.95, new and, when I gave one away, it was given back.

Dead Pit is still selling on Ebay way above the $35 price point set by DK on their own site.

Stop with the blatant lies.
