None of them. GT was entirely 16mm for its entire run. For a show made in 1996-1997, this was actually starting to become the exception and not the rule, interestingly enough.
As for the DBZ ones, you're correct, and you can most easily see proof of that in the DBZ Kai episodes they correspond to, as they look very, very different from the rest of them. As to why they used them for a seemingly random span of episodes in the Freeza arc, it's neither clear nor can be proven, but it's been speculated that it might have been because they had leftover 35mm negatives close to expiring and they needed to make use of them somehow (I guess there was no major movie production going on at the time?), but there is no hard proof whether or not that's true. |

May be well known among those in the know in these parts (i only found out a few months ago) but worth mentioning (what i assume is?) the anomaly/curiosity(of awesomeness B)) of akira being shot on 65mm. and boy would i love to watch a 70mm theatrical print sometime if the opportunity ever came up (assuming they were produced? i mean why shoot it on 70mm if they only released 35mm theatrical prints right??)

There is no proof that I've found that Akira was actually shot on 70mm. It might have been shot on 35 and blown up to 70mm as was common in that period for many films (rare for anime films but not unheard of). The HD and 4K remasters certainly leave a lot to be desired as they are, even more so if it was from a 70mm source...

The Rose of Versailles / Lady Oscar - Discotek Media BD vs Bandai BD
Comparison Bandai BD screenshots copied from another comparison, cropped Discotek BD to 1436x1080 to match Bandai BD screenshot Screenshots Bandai BD has additional clean up and stabilization, but the biggest difference is that it has the same high quality audio from magnetic tape source as the Nozomi DVD. Unfortunately TMS gave Discotek low quality audio from optical source. When I popped the disc in, I noticed the muffled audio immediately when the short jingle at the start of each episode played. It seems very unlikely that the audio will ever be fixed since the sets were released 2 years ago, so I'm gonna have to pray for a UK release with better audio or grab the German KSM release if somebody can confirm that it has the magnetic audio (though it will likely have crappy dubtitles like Attack No. 1). There was a tint difference between the US DVD and JP Blu-ray, so I wonder if that had anything to do with it?

Hmm, I've gotta ask but what exactly are the visual differences between the Netflix and JP/UK blu-ray masters of Violet Evergarden? Asking since I may have no choice but to go with the Funimation blus. The shoddy subs may be an issue I can overlook if I go with the dub.

Does anyone know if the most recent Manga UK versions of Jojo's Bizzare Adventures on blu-ray are decent?
Do they have colour issues that the viz titles apparently have? Thanks! |

They're alright, if you can accept the color issue. Stardust Crusaders part 1 has glitched frames in final episode.
