Having rented Point Doom, back in the day, and having bought it recently, I can't understand the hatred of the film. Richard Grieco and Andrew Dice Clay are fun to watch, that's a given. The story is good enough and even more than good enough, actually interesting. The women are what you would expect from a film of this type, and the man I watched it with appreciated that fact. It is a solid B movie. It defines B movie. If you love B movies, you love Dice. It's not possible not to. If you love B movies, you should enjoy Point Doom, as it is a really fun movie. Did anyone here skip Wacko when VS released it? That was another movie with Dice. I was so glad to see both of these films get released and, honestly, it just made me happy watching them again. Sometimes a B movie is exactly what you need. It's like medicine only without all the horrible side-effects. On To Why Dark Force Should Release David DeFalco's Heavy Metal Massacre.... To clarify the issue of Heavy Metal Massacre, because I got a phone call asking me why I am asking David to release it, from someone who wanted to know if he should seek a copy. Heavy Metal Massacre is the most optimistic, hopeful film I have ever seen, and I will explain why.... Heavy Metal Massacre, by one David DeFalco, is, genuinely, sorry David, a terrible movie. It was the first, to my knowledge, that David ever made. He made several and the others were actually good. Long before I ever heard of Dark Force, I had seen a little movie starring Dave Bautista that was fun and exciting and entertaining, that I really enjoyed. I'd seen Point Doom, that I enjoyed quite a lot, and still do. I'd seen The Backlot Murders, which I really enjoyed. Heavy Metal Massacre, in stark contrast, as David's first film, made no sense and was odd and even a little off-putting. As a bit of a nonsense film, you would think I would not love it, but, truly, I loved every minute, because I saw it after seeing the others. Heavy Metal Massacre is exactly what you would expect from someone who doesn't yet know what they are doing, who is trying to tell a story but isn't sure how to do that, who has some really good ideas but doesn't know how to bring them to life. It is almost an experimental film, with all the lingering shots and pauses and looks, and, when played in contrast to what David made later, it is a moment of film triumph. This film, which was not brilliant, came from someone who worked and tried and learned and ended up making some really enjoyable films, after putting in the time, doing the work, not giving up. That, to me, is an optimistic viewing experience, a film that conveys hope. The man who made that movie, who wrote and sang the music in that movie, with a title like Heavy Metal Massacre and music that is not heavy metal music, made a bunch of really cool, enjoyable films, that made sense, that were actually good, and he did it by not quitting when he sat down to watch Heavy Metal Massacre and found himself saying, "This was better in my head". I really do believe that Dark Force should release Heavy Metal Massacre, on DVD, even if it is a made-to-order, DVD-R, with a CD-R soundtrack. The movie is not anything to be proud of on its own, but, when taken with the rest of the films, it is a crowning achievement that should be simultaneously appreciated and laughed at. Heavy Metal Massacre is just too perfect and too fun and too ridiculous not to be seen. It's a Z movie and everyone should see it. That's my pitch, David. I'm going to try to stop mentioning it now. |

Please direct David to the pitch for Heavy Metal Massacre. I think it would sell. The Pakistani version sells and that money should be with Dark Force, not in Pakistan, nothing against Pakistan but, really, David made the movie. |

Welcome back, Tom.
I was worried you got canned for that Dead Pit customer relations fiasco. You know, the one where long-time customers couldn't buy a copy, or had to buy it with movies they had previously purchased from DF, etc. Tell us that you've fixed the process(es) at DF for the next super-duper-must-have, glow-in-the dark collectible cover [w/ free movie included with the cover]. Glad to hear you're still with us Tom. It's so great to have someone like you... someone on the inside who actually cares about their customers. Keep up the great work, kid! |

Was about to buy the bundle, but come on. Zombie F*cking Nighmare, I already own. Damn this is a tough one to get.
![]() ![]() OK Gold Bar Bundle it is. Thank you guys at Darkforce, Finally got this sucker along with some other goodies. Honestly though I would of bought the largest bundle had your stock remained consistent and or store stayed opened consistently. The way you people do things "Tom" made this f*cker hard to get. What a royal pain in the as*. Finally though "It is Mine". ![]() ![]() BTW; this blu ray has given me the most mixed amount of feelings and emotion. Excitement, happiness, and hate lol. ![]() |

Thank you miribeau. There is much mystery that surrounds Heavy Metal Massacre. After speaking to the Demon in depth about it as I am as fascinated by it as everyone else, there does seem to be a lot of false and misinformation out there. The Demon realizes it is so bad it is entertaining and seems to be amused by that but is frustrated that people seem to think they know more about the movie than he does. I can tell you for an unmitigated fact the Demon DID NOT direct the movie. It was directed by a relative that was a lot older at the time. It's not out of the realm of possibility that Dark Force could release it on blu-ray at some point but it would really need extensive extras with real truth behind the making of HEAVY METAL MASSACRE. Now that would be really interesting. Best, Tom General Manager, Dark Force

Enough people ask for Heavy Metal Massacre and they'll dust it off, slap a glow-in-the-dark condom on it and make you buy it by bundling it with something you REALLY want. They'll make thousands of $$ on profits on it, since it'll be overhyped as a "collectible" and grossly overpriced. My nightmare scenario is they'll hold Mirror, Mirror hostage with this scam.

No they don't, and that POS is at the top of the list of movies that don't. You think DF(you don't but everyone else does) has a bad rep for the nonsense they pull, wait till they try to get $25-35 for that turd as a standalone.

If you want to move Point Doom units, instead of bundling it, having a coupon code to discount Point Doom would be the way to go. Then everyone could buy Dead Pit. The adventurous customer could add Point Doom to their cart and get a discount on it. It would be some simple coding "If customer buys Dead Pit & buys Point Doom & Coupon code = "PointDoom" then remove $X from total". Forcing people to buy a movie via bundle and then un-bundling it isn't an act of charity. It's a business move to move more units of your hot seller. Forcing people to buy a bundle is trying to recoup costs from a business move that didn't pan out. |
