One of the (very) few good things about the new arrangements is there's no fees below £135, so you can order away without concern.

There's no fee as the merchant is required to charge the 20% of VAT at the point of sale. It's a bit of a mixed blessing, on the one hand if your item was to be caught by customs previously, it would have been the 20% plus a flat £12 fee to Parcelforce/etc for administration costs. These days it's just the guaranteed 20% extra.

All this applies to orders below £135. Above and it's back to the old system. You may get lucky, but generally customs were quite good/bad (depending on your point-of-view) at catching the larger value imports, so it's unlikely.

But, if the framing has been, er, updated, then that's Arrow admitting they were wrong.

Ah so there’s a decent chance I’ll get hit with the 20% fee trying to import Warriors

There is a 100% chance, because Arrow are charging it at the point of sale.
There will be no fee at customs, no extra £12 for processing.

The tl;dr version is the price you see at checkout is the price you pay. Below £135 in value there are no additional or unexpected fees or charges.

Just placed my first order on the Arrow US store (shipping to a German address) and am still puzzled by the whole thing to be honest. I ordered in USD and it didn't add any tax:

Shipping: $1.49
Total Tax: $0.00
Total Cost: $46.49

Before I placed the order I also played around with the currency settings and noticed the price increases drastically when you switch to Euros (from $45 to approx. 71 EUR). At first I figured this would be including German tax but it's actually quite a bit more so I left it (the actual EUR amount incl. German tax would be somewhere around 51 EUR).

Curious to see how that one plays out.

As knowledgeable as he is on Bava, wasn't it Lucas that convinced Arrow that the ratio was 1.66:1?

No sign of it on my end either. I ordered the Arte version when it popped back in stock unexpectedly after selling out. I keep wondering if there was some kinda stock mix-up and that they don't actually have one to send me.

Fingers crossed anyway. Hope you get sorted yourself!

That's my understanding. To me the framing looks fine in either ratio for the most part.

+1

It bothers me that their CS is so bad that you really can't trust any answer you get from them.

Maybe they are right, and more will be coming, and we will all get our orders. But there is also a chance that they have no clue, and while we are waiting on our Arte Originale versions, it gets harder and harder to find the regular limited edition ...

Same here but I'm confident there's no issue as I think there are some supply chain issues affecting multiple labels. I've never heard of Arrow not being able to honour a direct order. I don't really mind if they offer me a standard version as long as they refund a portion of the price because I paid £5 shipping to get this direct whereas I could've ordered the standard one from Amazon with free shipping. Plus the standard is £25 on Arrow site but the LE was £30. So I'd need to see at least £10 refund on my card.
