Ebay auctions (completed) will show much closer to what something is truly going for. If I had a copy of Dead Pit I could list in on Amazon for $100,000, or even a million (haven't sold on Amazon in years myself, but back when I did there wasn't even a penalty for silly prices as you only paid fees on stuff that did sell). Would they make a remark about that? It also sounds like they are trying to lean people to ebay, where they or their friends are selling copies for jacked up prices.
Being proud of this listing is ****ing retarded, period. Posting about it on FB in celebration is far beyond ****ing retarded and far beyond unprofessional.
Apparently you were the only one that got my gif reference. ....

That's ok. I will. It's not good.

Oh no? Bill is constantly on these forums talking about money over the years. Poor sales, sitting on tons of product, etc... Most currently situation, not having enough money, and needing to pay medical bills. So I ask, think his business is running successfully?

Considering Code Red has remained afloat for a long time, it would seem it is successful, yes.

There's also nothing wrong with wanting to get the most money for your product.

David and Thomas,

Will there be a 1 per customer limit on Gates of Hell/Psycho from Texas?

Will there be a bundle of Dead Pit and Gates of Hell/Psycho from Texas?

Do what you gotta do to pay your medical bills. Whenever you can I would strongly suggest going the ronin route. DF nonsense is wearing thin with everyone. You need to get their stink off of you ASAP. Take care of yourself Bill.
Hey Kraven I got news for you. Code Red will never be able to release itself from Dark Force. Remember those words. But on another topic, we made DEAD PIT an anomaly. No other label could have done that with that movie. And it was extremely gratifying because we love the movie.

Have the demons encircled Bill and does his soul belong to the devil? Guys, it might be time for a good old fashion exorcism to cast out the demons and save Bill.

However, it's easy to say "no other label could have done that" when only one label has released a given title on Blu-ray.

No other label could claim it sold out and then continue to put up random copies at 2am? Meanwhile VS are selling out 3,000 copies of a similar obscure titles over the course of a weekend.

Hopefully no other label would sell their discs for outrageous prices through proxies on Ebay while keeping their own store closed most of the time.

VS sold out of Darkroom at 1300 copies in a month.
Darkroom.
No hype or gimmicks.

I firmly believe some films will sell themselves - especially 80s horror... and especially titles never before on Blu-Ray.

Customers/fans are asking for a better experience in obtaining their favorite films. Instead it seems like the response from DF is combative. It’s frustrating and (personally) limits any desire to visit the store for blind buys of upcoming releases. That should be concerning because I’m sure I’m not the only person who feels that way.

VS has a system, a brilliant system, in which they place many photographs from the feature, capable of being enlarged to a surprisingly large size, extremely long descriptions of the film and of the special features, with odd biographical information of all the people involved in the making of the film, basically casting the widest net possible, before you even get to the limited slipcover. If a person's name doesn't catch you or a random association with another film you liked, most likely, something about the incredibly detailed description or those many photos will. And, then, most of them have trailers somewhere.... Who could resist?

I anticipate a day when Dark Force will have twenty still shots from every single film and lists of names and associations, alongside descriptions and trailer links. I wouldn't count them out just because responses strike you as "combative". If I weren't who I am, older and all that crap, I'd be pretty combative with the few critics I've faced. I learned to crush them with kindness (and that is not how that phrase actually goes). It's a skill. It took many years. It paid for my house, though not the other one. Being friendly generally works. So, asking Dark Force to consider pre-orders and some of these other things might be more effective than the constant barrage of hurled criticism.

Starting off, Dark Force could set a week every month when they put out their new release, whether they have one or two or even three, just one week, so you know when to check the store and it doesn't seem "so all the time" as a friend recently put it.

Also, that newsletter (email list) David bandied about a while back, would be a really nice addition to Dark Force and I am still looking forward to it. The VS announcements and Ronin announcements make it easy to shop but, to David specifically, keep in mind they also garner good will on the part of customers who LOVE company updates, from the company, that don't involve anyone named Zuckerberg or pop ups demanding you to log in, over and over.

Back to the newest leak in the garage....

Don’t you dare call me a liar William you posted the comment I quoted on April 22 when you were lashing out at Ronin. I am not a fake poster, you just try and rewrite history to make Ronin look like bad guys sad to say

All you managed to do was annoy customers like myself that buy just about everything horror related that's half way decent that they can afford. The Dead Pit is a title with a better reputation and a bit more pull than most of what you have sold previously. People were going to buy it whether it was bundled or unbundled, with a slip or without a slip. You may have moved a few extra units of older under performing titles but you did so at the expense of folks like myself that would like a bigger Code Red/Dark Forces library but don't want to deal with all the extra drama (or inflated prices) to grow one. After my latest experience I'm perfectly content buying second hand or simply not buying blind buys at all from either company as I wait for the next set of releases from Arrow/Scream Factory/Vinegar Syndrome/Severin/Synapse/etc.

Well I watched Point Doom from my Dead Pit/Point Doom/Steel Arena bundle.

It was.....not good. Grieco is extremely flat in his performance. I feel like Angie Everhart thought that epileptics had some form of developmental disorder so she seems off thoughout. The editing is akin to an adult movie of that time period you might see on Cinemax with a quick pan and a cut to the next scene with no segue whatsoever. During the car chase after the few obligotory cars trying to avoid the villain’s car, there were just multiple cars parked across multiple lanes of traffic for no reason other than to be obstacles; they did not swerve or move to avoid the oncoming car, they were just there, stationary. All that said, I did enjoy it for what it was, a cheap late 90’s action movie without that much action. To add to the charm, the cover for the blu-ray looks like it was made by me, while drunk, using the free GIMP editor and turning the airbrush to high. I’m not sure why Angie Everhart is not billed after Grieco on the cover. I would say it is better than I thought, and I wasn’t bored.

I agree.. it's absolutely awful but entertaining. Not as fun as some other bad action films around the same time though
