Out of curiosity I just checked Availability online and all stores within a 30 mile radius are completely sold out by now. I managed to get a copy but if I was someone who couldnt manage to snag a copy Id be frustrated and raged at BB for producing so very little quantities. They should state on the ad how its "Limited quantities". My store only has 6 copies upon opening, thats just absurd.

Sorry to hear. I really wish they restock soon cause everyone who enjoys Steelbook and this movie deserves this great edition in their collection. BB knew they were producing limited quantities they should have stated it.

I think it sold out because people made a hype out of it.
Other BB steelbooks didn't sold out that fast and some are even still available!
From what I have understand, everyone bought at least 2 copies (if there were multiple copies available) because it was a hype and everyone expected it to sell out so fast (because of the hype...). That's why everyone is saying 'bought one for my friend, girl, wife, etc.' Like their friends don't have hands and feet themselves to get their ass of the couch and buy it on of the stores... Just say you bought more than 1 to resell/trade. Sure, there might be a few honest posts, if you're buying for someone outside the USA for example. But this was a US exclusive, so the steelbooks were bought (mostly) by Americans.

Just say why you've really bought multiple copies. Everyone is saying they've bought the copies for 'friends', but I am sure 75% of those have bought the extra copies to resell or to trade. There would be a lot less tension if the 75% just admitted that, instead of acting like they hate people who buy multiple copies .

While the political debate on hear is interesting and rather enlightening to the perspectives of certain types of people... this is a STEELBOOK thread, this isn't even a discussion on the film or the politics of the film. Go discuss the politics of ZDT and 911 in the film page or on another board... Not in the steelbook bestbuy case thread.

Wow! Not trying to tussle anyone's feathers here and if I did I do apologise in advance, although this was an interesting read (and perhaps I shouldn't get involved) is that I hope people are buying this movie because they've enjoyed watching the movie that was/were based on true events and or appreciate the artwork that went behind making this great looking SB and not for any other reason. (I'll walk away now )

Good for you. Mine arrived today just like this except there was a dent on the front, bottom left corner. I called Bestbuy customer relations to see if they could send me a new one and I'd ship mine back, but they had none in stock. All five BB stores near me were all out of stock. Guess I'm keeping this one. They did compensate me with a $10 gift card coming in the mail.

<--- This Guy

I was really surprised by this. I went to Best Buy at 4pm right after work (I should have gone on my lunch break) on Tuesday and there were none left. Went to the other Best Buy I frequent which is a little farther away, same thing. The guy helping me said 3 people had them on reserve. He found one in stock at a third Best Buy for me to order and pick up. Then I get the email that it was not available for me. Now waiting to see if any stores near me will get more in.

The whole situation with this steel book is awful. I was really looking forward to it and I am not allowed one just because I am sleeping when Best Buy opens up (I work third shift)? I really hope they send some more to stores so actual collectors can get a copy instead of the scalpers selling them on eBay.

So leaving the political discussion aside, is this the first stellbook exclusive to the US? Assuming no other region gets it?
I can't recall any other, current, steelbook that has only been released in the US.

Anyone wanna mail me their shrink wrap with the 3 stickers still on it, I'd appreciate it. I'd pay your shipping of course.

As of right now, it is. As jw has stated though, it has yet to be released in other countries. Another steelbook could come along, but we'll probably be the only country with this cover art.

I understand that. I'm just asking if any prior steelbook had a US-only release?

its rare for a Steelbook to be Exclusive to just the US as all of North America (Canada & Mexico) usually gets the same releases as the US, It has happened though as far as cover art being different from a Steelbook release from another country Like the Target Exclusive Bourne Steels for example.

Ill never understand people missing out on an item when the item in question had a long "pre-order" time frame...

Excellent movie, I was impressed with the pace and the story. It does play out like Zodiac: event, period of detective work, event, period of detective work, etc....

Good stuff, great replay value for me
